A reproducing apparatus comprises a reproducing element for scanning over the spiral track on the rotary recording medium, and a circuit for shifting the reproducing element to an adjacent track turn at a changeover position of the recorded video signals related to the different programs on each track turn so that the video signal related to the same program is continuously reproduced.

    摘要: In apparatus for recording and/or reproducing video signals in successive parallel tracks on a record medium, and in which at least a portion of the video signals, for example, the luminance component of color video signals, is recorded as a frequency modulation on a carrier, the carrier of the frequency modulated portion of the video signals, as recorded in tracks that are next adjacent to each other, has different first and second carrier frequencies, respectively, which are in frequency interleaving relation to each other for minimizing cross-talk when reproducing the signals thus recorded. The shifting of the carrier frequency for the frequency modulated luminance component is conveniently achieved by selectively applying different first and second bias voltages to the luminance component as supplied to a frequency modulator, with the difference between such bias voltages being effective in the modulator to establish the desired difference between the carrier frequencies. On reproducing, the frequency modulated luminance component is demodulated, and changes in level of the demodulated luminance component corresponding to the different carrier frequencies with which the frequency modulated luminance component was recorded in next adjacent tracks, respectively, are eliminated, for example, by selectively applying suitably different bias voltages to the demodulated luminance component.

    摘要: A demodulation system of a playback device for a carrier frequency signal containing both useful information in the zero passages of the signal and signal break-ins which occur in the playback device. The system includes a limiter for limiting in an asymmetrical manner a signal fed to it and a demodulator coupled to the output of the limiter. A highpass filter is connected between the limiter and the demodulator so as to couple the output signal from the limiter to the demodulator. The highpass filter substantially passes only the useful information portion of the carrier signal and suppresses any break-ins introduced into the signal.

    摘要: Video signals are recorded in successive record tracks on a record sheet without guard bands or spaces between adjacent tracks so as to enhance the utilization of the record sheet, and interference between the signals recorded in adjacent tracks is avoided during reproduction thereof by recording such video signals in adjacent tracks with their respective synchronizing signals aligned in the direction at right angles to the length of the tracks and further with carrier components of the signals recorded in the adjacent tracks being of the same frequency and having the same phase relation to the effective scanning direction during recording. During reproduction of the signals thus recorded, non-interfering signals recorded in two or more adjacent tracks are simultaneously reproduced, for example, as by a reproducing magnetic head having a gap width substantially greater than the pitch of the successive tracks in which the signals are magnetically recorded, so as to enhance the resolution and S/N ratio of the reproduced signals and further to avoid the necessity of a servo tracking arrangement.

Circuit means are conditioned to detect the closest timing match between a reference synchronizing signal and the video signal as it appears at various points along the delay path and to connect the appropriate delay line point or junction to an output at which the correctly delayed video signal appears. Featured circuitry provides for eliminating the erroneous leading edge of a video synchronizing pulse distorted by changes in the selected delay point and for compensating for variations in d.c. offset of the video signal introduced by differential delay line path effects.
