Abstract:
A composition-of-matter comprising a substance usable in producing packaging material and at least one compound selected from the group consisting of ar-turmerone, a sesquiterpene alcohol and a turmeric oleoresin solid residue.
Abstract:
A container is provided for holding a chemical compound or mixture. Areas are provided on the surface of the container which allow for gaseous by-products from the chemical contained within the container to permeate from a chamber through the surface of the container. A septum is over-molded into the surface of the container. The septum is formed in such a manner that it provides a sealing effect to close an opening in the container.
Abstract:
The present invention is a quartz bubbler container with cross purge capability. This cross purge allows the user to easily purge air and chemical from the valve inlet and outlet by simply flowing inert gas, and avoids the requirement for a more complicated vacuum purging apparatus. The design incorporates two small footprint 3-way valves mounted on the bubbler container inlet and outlet connectors. The 3rd port of each valve is piped together between the valves with a crosspurge line. The valves are corrosion resistant, leak free, maintenance free, non-leaching of impurities, and can accommodate an optional breakseal crusher that will perforate quartz break seals (on the inlet and outlet of ampoule). Liquid out containers of various materials of construction are also contemplated.
Abstract:
The present invention is a lawn accessory comprising a structural shell. The shell is constructed to have a wall containing both inner and outer surfaces, and a bottom member which together form an inner volume. An adhesive layer surrounds the outer wall surface of the shell and is comprised of a mortar. A decorative layer comprised of a plurality of synthetic stones is attached to the adhesive layer and spaces between the stones are filled with mortar to complete the lawn accessory.
Abstract:
An environmentally friendly plastic container that can be subjected to waste disposal with ease is proposed. The container is obtained by blow-molding a hollow preform, and the container itself is formed of a biodegradable plastic material.
Abstract:
A packaging system for preserving perishable items which involves a thermoplastic reclosable bag or container wherein the thermoplastic reclosable bag or container involves sealed means for closing one end of the thermoplastic reclosable bag or container, and an external patch for delivering active packaging materials (e.g., chemicals) into the thermoplastic reclosable bag or container, and means for flowing active packaging materials into the thermoplastic reclosable bag or container from the external patch into the thermoplastic reclosable bag or container. Such packaging can perform a number of functions such as moisture regulation, antimicrobial emission, ethylene scavenging, ethylene emission, antioxidant emission, flavor adsorption and emission, and oxygen and carbon dioxide regulation. The present invention allows the segregation of active compounds in plastic packaging within an external patch that prevents the direct contact of such compounds and the contents of the package but allows the free exchange of liquids and/or gasses between the patch contents and the package interior.
Abstract:
A trash bag for containing wet trash has an outer ply of fluid imperious material defining an outer front wall and an outer rear wall of the bag, and an inner ply of fluid pervious material defining an inner front wall and an inner rear wall of the bag. The inner and outer plies form a compartment between them which contains a highly fluid absorbent material. The material is capable of capturing any fluids that enter the compartment from the interior of the bag thereby minimizing fluid leakage from the bag in the event that the outer ply of the bag is breeched.
Abstract:
An article of commerce includes a disposable cleaning article and a package. The package exhibits soft visual and sound characteristics, which convey a desired quality to be associated with the enclosed cleaning article. The package is formed as a multilayer packaging film including at least a co-extruded vapor barrier film layer and a polymeric film layer having a melting point at least about 20° C. less than the co-extruded film layer laminated to the co-extruded film layer. The polymeric film layer is sealable to form the package so as to enclose the disposable cleaning article, thereby to substantially retain the water content of the disposable cleaning article. The polymeric film layer further exhibits a corrected sound level of less than approximately 50 decibels at readily audible frequencies, such as 3-5 kHz. The reduced sound level may be achieved by providing a film with a high loss tangent. In addition, the multilayer packaging film may have an outer surface with a soft or “matte” appearance.
Abstract:
This packaging for sterile products or products intended to be sterilized by a gas, for example a gas of the ETO type, comprises a tub (2) made of plastic and a cover sheet (14) made of selectively impervious material, fixed to the tub (2) so as to seal the latter imperviously. According to the invention, the packaging comprises a screen (20, 22; 24, 26; 26) against electron radiation (E), placed along the cover sheet (14) on the inside of the tub (2) and dimensioned in such a way as to extend above the products (10) to be sterilized and so as to delimit on the cover sheet (14) a peripheral zone (14a) for fixing this cover sheet (14) to the tub (2).
Abstract:
The present invention provides a rigid, water-soluble container made of an injection moulded poly(vinyl alcohol) and/or a cellulose ether, which container encases a fabric care, surface care or dishwashing composition.
