Abstract:
The present invention provides compounds, compositions and methods for the selective inhibition of cathepsin S. In a preferred aspect, cathepsin S is selectively inhibited in the presence of at least one other cathepsin isozyme. The present invention also provides methods for treating a disease state in a subject by selectively inhibiting cathepsin S.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method a system and a network device for exception handling of multicast service, including: determining that the multicast bandwidth limitation of the port is exceeded or the number limitation of the multicast groups the port joins is exceeded, upon receiving a multicast join request from a port; finding out a multicast group which has no members on the port; stopping forwarding traffic of the multicast group to the port. In the present invention, problems, such as packet losing, failing to change channels, line bandwidth waste, home network bandwidth waste, due to the losing of an IGMP Leave message in applications such as the IPTV, may be solved.
Abstract:
Methods, systems and machine readable medium storing a machine readable program for managing data stored on a contactless flash memory device are disclosed. A compiled version of a hierarchical data model defined using a high level data structure definition language is provided at a host unit. The host unit is operable to run on a host platform. The compiled version of the hierarchical data model is compiled for the host platform. A first representation of a first hierarchical data structure is received from a contactless flash memory device at the host unit via a contactless communication channel. The first hierarchical data structure is a first instantiation of the hierarchical data model. A second representation of the first hierarchical data structure is generated in accordance with the compiled hierarchical data model at the host unit.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for a Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) access terminal getting the address of a provider server. The method includes that when the PPP access terminal is connected to a network through an access service device, the access service device sends the address information of the provider server to the PPP access terminal. Then, after the PPP access terminal has obtained the address of the provider server, it configures the address locally. A method of a terminal in PPP access mode getting the addresses of the service server and the management server is provided according to an embodiment of the invention. Through the method, the work load for configuration during provisioning of the service is reduced and the operation cost of the provider is saved. Additionally, better supporting of the nomadism service is achieved through the present invention. The invention also discloses a PPP access terminal and an access service device.
Abstract:
A power system for dual-motor hybrid vehicle is a combined driving unit fed with fuel and electric power, comprising: an internal combustion engine, a motor, a clutch, a transmission, a power battery, a braking system and an entire vehicle controller, wherein the system further comprises: a main motor, an auxiliary motor, and a mechanical stepped transmission, a rotor shaft of the main motor being connected with the output shaft of the transmission, a rotor shaft of the auxiliary motor being connected with the crankshaft of the internal combustion engine; the main motor and the auxiliary motor being electrically connected with the power battery. With the control of the entire vehicle controller, the vehicle can be driven automatically by the hybrid power system in the follow modes: pure motor driving mode, series driving mode, parallel driving mode, hybrid driving mode, idling stop mode of the internal combustion engine, braking energy recovery mode, independently driving mode of the internal combustion engine, and motor auxiliarily driving mode during shifting. The present invention provides a new power system for hybrid vehicle, with simple structure, lower cost, less energy consumption and less exhaust gas emissions.
Abstract:
A method, a system and an access device for implementing error correction are disclosed. The method includes upon receiving a data stream, identifying, by an access device, the data stream on which a forward error correction (FEC) needs to be performed and performing FEC coding on the data stream, and then sending out an FEC data stream generated by FEC coding together with a raw data stream, or sending out directly a data stream on which the FEC does not need to be performed. The system includes a data source for sending out a data stream and an access device for receiving the data stream from the data source, identifying the data stream on which a FEC needs to be performed, performing FEC coding on the data stream, and then sending out an FEC data stream generated by FEC coding together with a raw data stream, or sending out directly a data stream on which the FEC does not need to be performed. The bandwidth can be saved when the FEC is performed in data stream transmission, and it can be adapted to conditions of different access lines according to the invention.
Abstract:
A drug delivery system that includes a hydrogel formed from cyclodextrin and an amphiphilic copolymer that includes an A polymer block comprising a poly(alkylene oxide) and a B polymer block comprising a poly(hydroxyalkanoate), and a therapeutically effective amount of at least one therapeutic agent intimately contained within the hydrogel. In one preferred embodiment of the invention, the A polymer block is poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) and the B polymer block is poly[(R)-3-hydroxybutyrate] (PHB), and the copolymer is the triblock ABA copolymer PEO-PHB-PEO. A method of synthesizing the amphiphilic triblock copolymer is also provided.
Abstract:
A keyboard with definable keystroke values is provided. The keyboard includes an output interface for connecting to a keyboard interface of a host computer; keycaps for receiving operational inputs; a signal generation unit for generating keystroke signals in response to the operational inputs on the keycaps; a storage unit; and a micro control unit (MCU). The MCU includes a defining module for defining keystroke mappings between keystrokes and keystroke values in a user-defined keystroke mode, and storing the keystroke mapping into the storage unit; and an output control module for receiving the keystroke signals from the signal generation unit, reading the corresponding mapped keystroke values from the keystroke mapping stored in the storage unit in the user-defined keystroke mode, and outputting the mapped keystroke values to the keyboard interface of the host computer through the output interface.
Abstract:
A method for providing for thermal conduction using an array of carbon nanotubes (CNTs). An array of vertically oriented CNTs is grown on a substrate having high thermal conductivity, and interstitial regions between adjacent CNTs in the array are partly or wholly filled with a filler material having a high thermal conductivity so that at least one end of each CNT is exposed. The exposed end of each CNT is pressed against a surface of an object from which heat is to be removed. The CNT-filler composite adjacent to the substrate provides improved mechanical strength to anchor CNTs in place and also serves as a heat spreader to improve diffusion of heat flux from the smaller volume (CNTs) to a larger heat sink.
