Abstract: A lane-control system suitable for use on an automated vehicle comprising a camera, a lidar-sensor, and a controller. The camera captures an image of a roadway traveled by a host-vehicle. The lidar-sensor detects a discontinuity in the roadway. The controller is in communication with the camera and the lidar-sensor and defines an area-of-interest within the image, constructs a road-model of the roadway based on the area-of-interest, determines that the host-vehicle is approaching the discontinuity, and adjusts the area-of-interest within the image based on the discontinuity.

Abstract: An electrical assembly, such as an electrical connector, is presented. The assembly includes a housing formed of a dielectric material using an additive manufacturing process such as stereolithography, digital light processing, fused deposition modeling, fused filament fabrication, selective laser sintering, selecting heat sintering, multi-jet modeling, multi-jet fusion, or 3D printing. The assembly further includes an electromagnetic shield integrally formed on a surface of the housing by a layer of conductive material deposited on the dielectric material by the additive manufacturing process. A method of manufacturing a housing configured to contain an electrical assembly is also presented. The method includes the steps of forming the housing from a dielectric material using an additive manufacturing process and integrally forming an electromagnetic shield on an external surface of the housing by depositing a layer of conductive material on the dielectric material during the additive manufacturing process.

Abstract: A lane-keeping system suitable for use on an automated vehicle includes a camera, an inertial-measurement-unit, and a controller. The camera is configured to detect a lane-marking of a roadway traveled by a vehicle. The inertial-measurement-unit is configured to determine relative-motion of the vehicle. The controller in communication with the camera and the inertial-measurement-unit. When the lane-marking is detected the controller is configured to steer the vehicle towards a centerline of the roadway based on a last-position, and determine an offset-vector indicative of motion of the vehicle relative to the centerline of the roadway. When the lane-marking is not detected the controller is configured to: determine an offset-position relative to the last-position based on information from the inertial-measurement-unit, determine a correction-vector used to steer the vehicle from the offset-position towards the centerline of the roadway based on the last-position and the offset-vector, and steer the vehicle according to the correction-vector.

Abstract: A video-camera device comprises a motherboard, and a daughterboard comprising a video-camera module the optical axis of which is perpendicular to a main plane of the daughterboard. The motherboard includes a rigid main segment comprising image-processing electronic components. The motherboard including a secondary segment made of the same material as, and integrally formed with, the main segment. The secondary segment is partially surrounded by a void. The secondary segment has a rectilinear border defining the junction between the main segment and the secondary segment. The rectilinear border defines a pivot axis of the secondary segment. The daughterboard is mounted perpendicularly on the secondary segment in such a way that the secondary segment is inclinable relative to the surface of the main segment about the pivot axis in order to allow the angle of inclination between the optical axis of the video-camera module and the main segment to be adjusted.

Abstract: A wire cable assembly, such as those used in electric or hybrid electric vehicles, having a plurality of shielded wire cables that are spliced together is presented. The assembly. A resilient shield clip electrically interconnects the shield conductors of at least a portion of the plurality of shielded wire cables. The shield clip defines a first wire receiving portion that is characterized as being omega-shaped in cross section. A first shield conductor portion is received within the first wire receiving portion. The shield clip further defines second and third wire receiving portions in which the second and third shield conductor portions are received respectively. A conductive shield sleeve is in electrical contact with the shield clip and encloses the first, second, and third shield conductor portions. A method of splicing shielded wire cables using such a shield clip is also presented herein.

Abstract: An electrical connector assembly includes a connector housing, a cap, and a lever pivotably attached to the cap. The lever moves from a transport position, a preliminary mating position, and a fully mated position. The connector assembly has a first holding means holding the lever in the transport position and a second holding means holding the lever in the preliminary mating position. The first holding means has a locking arm on the lever and a latching projection on the cap. The connector housing has a wall extending towards the cap configured to release the locking arm from the latching projection and move the lever towards the preliminary mating position. The second holding means comprises a locking protrusion and a locking reception receiving the locking protrusion when the lever is in the preliminary mating position. A mating connector displaces the locking protrusion to release the lever when the assembly is mated.

Abstract: A coaxial connector assembly is described herein. The coaxial connector assembly includes an inner contact that is configured to terminate a center conductor of a coaxial cable, an insulative inner sleeve holding the inner contact, a tubular outer contact surrounding the inner sleeve and the inner contact, said outer contact configured to terminate a shield braid of the coaxial cable and an insulative cylindrical outer sleeve defining a central cavity extending longitudinally therethrough in which said outer contact is disposed. The cavity has an opening configured to receive a corresponding coaxial connector. A lip on a forward end of the outer sleeve extends into the opening such that a forward edge of the outer contact is not exposed within the opening. The coaxial connector assembly may be configured to meet the FAKRA connector standards.
