Provided are methods and systems for collecting telemetry data by a telemetry library within a client device. A system for the collection of telemetry data by a telemetry library within a client device may comprise a client device to initialize the telemetry library. The system may further comprise a processor to contact a configuration server with identifying information specific to the client device to retrieve configuration information. The system may then perform a search using the identifying information, return configuration regular expressions related to the identifying information to the telemetry library, and identify the telemetry data along with a namespace or a scope to which the telemetry data belongs, using a name generated by the telemetry library.

There is provided a haptic device including a small-size haptic unit. The haptic device includes a weight, a magnet fixed to the weight, a coil that generates a magnetic field to reciprocate the magnet along a predetermined direction, and a current control unit that presents a haptic sensation to a user by controlling a current flowing in the coil to vibrate the weight.

An obstacle detecting unit detects an obstacle for a user wearing a head mounted display from an image of the outside world. A distance calculating unit calculates the distance from a detected obstacle to the user wearing the head mounted display. An obstacle replacing unit replaces the detected obstacle with a virtual object. A virtual object synthesizing unit generates a virtual object at a position within a virtual space displayed on the head mounted display, in which the position is determined according to the distance to the obstacle.

An image generating device includes a background image acquirer that acquires an image of a background on which an image of an object is to be superimposed, a color extractor that extracts a color about one or a plurality of places in the image of the background, and a light source decider that decides the color of light output by a light source that illuminates the object based on the color extracted about the one or plurality of places. The image generating device further includes a drawing section that draws the image of the object based on the decided color of the light of the light source and an output image generator that generates an output image obtained by superimposing the image of the object on the image of the background.

A method for executing computer instructions for presenting an interactive environment in a head-mounted display (HMD) is described. The method includes identifying content associated with the interactive environment to be presented on the HMD for a user and determining whether an interactive object within the identified content satisfies a threshold for presentation to the user. The method includes augmenting the interactive object with augmentation data. The augmented data acts to change a characteristic of the interactive object. The operation of augmenting the interactive object is performed after determining that the interactive object does not satisfy the threshold for presentation to the user. The augmentation data modifies the interactive object to conform the interactive object to be within the threshold.
