    Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, relating to changing device settings based on an orientation or motion of a mobile device. The method includes receiving a user input, determining that the mobile device was oriented in a first orientation when the user input was received, selecting a first device setting or service request parameter that affects a mobile phone application or a web service experience and that are associated with the first orientation, providing, for output at the mobile device, a first response to the user input based on the first device setting, after providing the first response to the user input, determining that the mobile device has been reoriented in a different, second orientation, selecting a second device setting, and providing a second response to the user input, or to a revision of the user input, based on the second device setting.

    Abstract: Methods, apparatus, systems, and computer-readable media are provided for interactive assistant modules to safely access and provide restricted content in group contexts. In various implementations, a dialog between a first individual and an interactive assistant module may be determined to be sensorially perceivable by at least a second individual. Restricted content that is to be automatically incorporated into the dialog by the interactive assistant module may be identified. In various implementations, access to the restricted content may be controlled by the first individual. In various implementations, the restricted content may be conditionally incorporated into the dialog in response to a determination that the second individual is authorized to perceive the restricted content.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for optimizing digital components. In one aspect, the system includes a digital component server that identifies a digital component to be presented in an electronic document. The system also includes a digital component distribution server that interacts with the digital component server to determine that the electronic document includes a particular item that identifies a same entity as the digital component that was identified to be presented in the electronic document. The system combines at least a portion of the digital component with content from the particular item to form an optimized digital component. The optimized digital component is integrated into the electronic document rather than presenting either of the particular item or the digital component individually.

    Abstract: Various arrangements for handling delayed status update are presented. A network-enabled sensor unit may be used to measure an environmental condition. The sensor unit may determine, based on measuring the environmental condition, an environmental condition status has changed state. A network connection may be established that permits communication with a remote notification service system. This notification service system may maintain a remote status intended to be synchronized with the environmental condition status of the sensor unit. The sensor unit may determine that the environmental condition status has changed prior to communicating the environmental condition status to the notification service system. A historical status array may be transmitted to the notification service system in response to determining the environmental condition status has reverted to the first state prior to communicating the environmental condition status. The historical status array can indicate previous states of the environmental condition status of the sensor unit.
