Abstract: Methods, systems, and media for synchronizing media content using audio timecodes are provided. In some implementations, the method comprises: identifying, using a secondary device, a media content item that is being presented on a primary device; detecting, using the secondary device, a tone embedded within a portion of audio content of the media content item; identifying, using the secondary device, a current playback position of the media content item on the primary device based on the detected tone; determining, using the secondary device, supplemental content relevant to the media content item at the current playback position; and causing the supplemental content to be presented on the secondary device.

Abstract: Methods, apparatus, systems, and computer-readable media are provided for interactive assistant modules to safely access and provide restricted content in group contexts. In various implementations, a dialog between a first individual and an interactive assistant module may be determined to be sensorially perceivable by at least a second individual. Abstract: A system for combining six degree of freedom (6DOF) inputs, or positional and orientation inputs, from multiple 6DOF controllers in an augmented reality (AR) environment and/or a virtual reality (VR) environment is provided. In response to the detected movement of multiple controllers, and in particular, rotational movement of the multiple controllers providing user inputs in a virtual reality environment, the detected movements of the multiple controllers may be resolved to a single, common coordinate system to determine intended input to be applied to a selected virtual object in the virtual environment. The ability to resolve these inputs from multiple 6DOF controllers to a common coordinate system may provide a more natural user input mode, thus enhancing the user's experience.

Abstract: Systems and methods for controlling a climate control system of a smart-home environment that includes a plurality of smart devices are provided. One method includes detecting, with a hazard detector of the smart devices, a level of carbon monoxide (CO) at the hazard detector that exceeds a threshold CO level at a location of the hazard detector, determining, by one of the smart devices, that the climate control system includes a combustion based heat source, and in response to the detecting and the determination, transmitting, by a system controller of the climate control system, a first signal to turn off at least one aspect of the climate control system.

Abstract: Various arrangements for handling delayed status update are presented. A network-enabled sensor unit may be used to measure an environmental condition. The sensor unit may determine, based on measuring the environmental condition, an environmental condition status has changed state. A network connection may be established that permits communication with a remote notification service system. This notification service system may maintain a remote status intended to be synchronized with the environmental condition status of the sensor unit. The sensor unit may determine that the environmental condition status has changed prior to communicating the environmental condition status to the notification service system. A historical status array may be transmitted to the notification service system in response to determining the environmental condition status has reverted to the first state prior to communicating the environmental condition status. The historical status array can indicate previous states of the environmental condition status of the sensor unit.

Abstract: A user captures an image of a payment card via a user computing device camera. An optical character recognition system receives the payment card image from the user computing device. The system performs optical character recognition and visual object recognition algorithms on the payment card image to extract text and visual objects from the payment card image, which are used by the system to identify a payment card type. The system may categorize the payment card as a credit card or a non-credit card. In an example embodiment, the system determines that the payment card type is a credit card and transmits fee structure to the user. The user selects a second payment card for use in the transaction and the transaction is processed using financial account information associated with the second payment card.
