摘要: Devices for treating vascular defects and associated systems and methods are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, an occlusive device for treating an aneurysm includes an anchor structure extending circumferentially around an opening. A plurality of spiral struts are coupled to the anchor structure and extend over the opening, and a plurality of protrusions extend away from the spiral struts. The spiral struts and the protrusions can both be arranged within a common plane when the occlusive device is in an expanded configuration. When the occlusive device is deployed within the aneurysm and in the expanded configuration, the spiral struts can span the neck of the aneurysm, and the anchor structure can engage the wall of the aneurysm near the neck.

摘要: A catheter system and method, the system including a catheter having a lumen, a position sensor, and at least one pull-wire to articulate the catheter, a tool including a metal tip at the distal end of the catheter, a proximity sensor associated with the catheter and configured to detect the presence of the tool proximate an articulation region on the target, and an articulation mechanism configured to apply pressure to the pull-wire to articulate and de-articulate the catheter. The method determining that the tool cannon pass through the articulation region based on the level of articulation of the catheter and the properties of the tool, de-articulating the catheter to allow the tool to pass through the articulation region and re-articulating the catheter to a position and orientation of the catheter prior to de-articulation.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to the field of medical monitoring, and, in particular, to non-contact detecting and monitoring of patient breathing. Systems, methods, and computer readable media are described for calculating a change in depth of regions in one or more regions of interest (ROI's) on a patient and assigning one or more visual indicators to the regions based on the calculated changes in depth of the regions over time. In some embodiments, one or more breathing parameter signals corresponding to the regions can be generated and/or analyzed. In these and other embodiments, the one or more visual indicators can be displayed overlaid onto the regions in real-time. In these and still other embodiments, the systems, methods, and/or computer readable media (i) can display one or more generated breathing parameter signals in real-time and/or (ii) can trigger an alert and/or an alarm when a breathing abnormality is detected.

摘要: A surgical stitching device is configured for single hand operation that enables passage of a suture needle through tissue with minimal operational requirement. The surgical needle is selectively securable to first and second jaws that are pivotably coupled to each other. When the first and second jaws are in an open configuration, in which, the first and second jaws are spaced apart, the suture needle is detachably secured to the first and second jaws. When the first and second jaws are in a closed configuration, in which, the first and second jaws are approximated, the suture needle is detachably secured to one of the first and second jaws and is detached from the other one of the first and second jaws. Such single hand operation facilitates procedures such as, e.g., extraterritorial loop suture closure.

摘要: A robotic surgical system includes an access port having a plurality of sensors incorporated therein and a surgical instrument having an end effector for use with, and connection to a robot arm. The sensors measure a loading parameter between tissue and the access port when the shaft is inserted through the access port. The sensors wirelessly transmit signals indicative of the loading parameter to a processing unit. The estimated loads at the tip of the end effector of the surgical instrument are provided in real-time to a haptic feedback interface for communicating haptic feedback to a user. The haptic feedback increases or decreases in intensity in response to a specific event, occurrence, or operational characteristic related to the estimated loads.
