Abstract:
Disclosed is a PDP driving method having a misfiring erase period between reset and address periods. Large amounts of positive and negative charges are respectively formed on scan and sustain electrodes because of an unstable reset operation in the reset period. Because of the charges, discharging can occur between the scan and sustain electrodes in the sustain period even without addressing in the address period. In the misfiring erase period, a voltage is applied between the scan and sustain electrodes to generate discharging and respectively form negative and positive charges on the scan and sustain electrodes. An erase pulse is then applied to erase the negative and positive charges respectively formed on the scan and sustain electrodes.

Provided is a plasma display panel (PDP). The PDP includes first and second substrates which face each other with a predetermined gap, barrier ribs which are disposed between the first and second substrates and define discharge cells, discharge electrodes which are disposed between the first and second substrates and have different widths, phosphor layers which are formed in the discharge cells, and colored layers which colors the phosphor layers of the discharge cells. Specifically, a red colored layer colors the red phosphor layer and a blue colored layer colors the blue phosphor layers, while the green phosphor layers are not colored.

A method and a terminal for providing a route in a navigation system using a satellite image are provided. The terminal includes a route calculation unit for calculating a route from a current location to a destination when a user inputs the destination, a satellite image requesting unit for requesting a satellite image server for satellite images corresponding to locations on the route and for downloading the requested satellite images, a satellite image storage unit for storing the downloaded satellite images, and a controller for retrieving a satellite image corresponding to the current location from the satellite image storage unit and for displaying the retrieved satellite image simultaneously while downloading the satellite images corresponding to the locations on the route.

A plasma display panel includes a plurality of substrates facing each other, a plurality of discharge electrodes disposed between the substrates, a barrier rib structure disposed between the substrates to define a plurality of discharge cells, and a plurality of phosphor layers coated in the discharge cells, wherein each of the discharge cells is divided into at least two discharge spaces by auxiliary barrier ribs, thereby increasing areas of the phosphor layers coated in the discharge cells. And a plurality of electric field concentration portions are formed between X electrodes and Y electrodes in the divided discharge spaces, thereby increasing light emission efficiency.
Abstract:
A vacuum type pickup apparatus may include an absorption pad having an absorption inlet for contacting and/or picking up an object. A pad holder may be connected to the absorption pad. The pad holder may also have a vacuum line. A separator may be provided in the pad holder for forcibly releasing the object from the absorption inlet of the absorption pad. During the forcible release of the object, the air around the absorption pad may be drawn into the pad holder, thus reducing or preventing the potential contamination by impurities of the object as well as the equipment around the object. Also, an additional vacuum extinguisher may not be required, thus simplifying the structure of the vacuum type pickup apparatus and reducing installation costs. Furthermore, the object may be picked up and released in a relatively expedient, safe, and accurate manner, despite the suction force of the vacuum that may be maintained in the pad holder.

A method for generating driver assistance information of a traveling vehicle. The method can restructure traveling environments into an image based on a sensor system capable of removing blind spots around a traveling vehicle, and a scheme capable of exactly detecting a lane and a vehicle, and give a collision warning when there is a possibility of collision. Further, the method integrates recognition results of front/rear vehicles based on a lane recognition method applicable to various road environments, including the shape, curvature and loss of a lane, improves the stability of lane recognition, and distinguishes a solid line from a dot line, so it is possible to provide a driver with the subdivided degrees of danger. In addition, when a vehicle deviates from a lane, a voice warning may be output and the position of the vehicle for a road is restructured as an image.

A side view type light emitting diode and a method of manufacturing the same are disclosed. The method may include (a) providing lead frames which include a cathode terminal and an anode terminal, (b) forming a reflector which surrounds the lead frames, such that portions of the cathode terminal and anode terminal protrude from both sides, and which includes a groove open in the upward direction and a wall surrounding the groove, (c) die-attaching an LED chip onto the lead frames inside the groove, (d) bonding the LED chip to the cathode terminal or to the anode terminal with a conductive wire, (e) dispensing a liquid curable resin into the groove to form a lens part and (D sawing the walls facing each other using a sawing machine such that the thicknesses at the upper surfaces are about 0.04 mm to about 0.05 mm.

Provided are a system and method for determining a position based on portable Internet in a portable Internet system. The method includes receiving, by the terminal, information on neighbor base stations (BSs) from a main BS, scanning the neighbor BSs while measuring Received Signal Strength Indicators (RSSIs) for the main BS and the neighbor BSs, determining whether the RSSI for the main BS is greater than a preset threshold value, and deciding, as a position of the terminal, a position associated with an IDentification (ID) of the main BS when the RSSI is greater than the threshold value.

An apparatus and method for performing color conversion using a color cache is disclosed. The apparatus includes a color converter for acquiring an after conversion color by performing a color conversion operation of a color of a predetermined pixel, a color cache for storing before conversion colors and after conversion colors of previous pixels color-converted by the color converter and searching for the same color by comparing the color of the predetermined pixel to the stored colors before conversion when the predetermined pixel is input, and a controller for transmitting the color of the predetermined pixel to the color cache, controlling the color cache to search whether the same color as that of the predetermined pixel is stored in the color cache, acquiring a after conversion color from the color converter or the color cache according to the search result, and transmitting the color after conversion to the outside.
