Disclosed is an apparatus which, even when it becomes impossible to take an image of a mobile object due to existence of an obstacle to hide the mobile object, is capable of making a simulatory screen display of the mobile object, thereby notifying a driver of a risk of collision with the mobile object. Even when it is impossible to take an image of the mobile object because of existence of an obstacle, the apparatus displays a simulated picture image of the mobile object superimposed on an actual picture image, by obtaining an optical flow or by performing pattern matching. Thus, an effect is obtained that the mobile object is viewed as if transmitted through the obstacle. By notifying the driver of the risk of collision in advance by means of sound or video image perceptible by a human being, the danger of the collision is avoided.

An exposure apparatus performs exposure for a substrate by filling a space between a projection optical system and the substrate with a liquid and projecting an image of a pattern onto the substrate through the liquid by using the projection optical system. The exposure apparatus includes a substrate stage for holding the substrate, a liquid supply unit for supplying the liquid to a side of an image plane of the projection optical system, and a focus/leveling-detecting system for detecting surface information about a surface of the substrate not through the liquid. The exposure apparatus performs liquid immersion exposure for the substrate while adjusting a positional relationship between the surface of the substrate and the image plane formed through the projection optical system and the liquid, on the basis of the surface information detected by the focus/leveling-detecting system. The liquid immersion exposure can be performed at a satisfactory pattern transfer accuracy.

The magnetic disk carries a lubricating film on the DLC film wherein a fluorocarbon resin constituting the lubricating film contains photocrosslinking groups. A lubricating film having non-polar end groups is also disclosed.

A heat transport device includes a container having a hollow structure including a fluid channel, at least one thermal-receiver heat exchanger and one thermal-radiator heat exchanger arranged side-by-side on an outer wall of the container along the fluid channel, and driving heat exchangers at respective terminal portions of the container. In this heat transport device, both ends of the fluid channel are closed to prevent intrusion of external air, and a liquid and a gas are sealed in the fluid channel. The driving heat exchangers cause the liquid to oscillate in the container along the internal fluid channel. The heat transport device provides low acoustic noise performance, improved temperature controllability, high heat transportation and heat radiating capacities, and improved heat transfer and fluid flow characteristics.
