摘要: An apparatus for detecting the in-focusing conditions is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a light guide member having light incident end arranged along a plane which is placed at an angle of inclination against a predetermined focal plane of an optical system; a light receiver arranged near a light outlet end of the light guide member and consisting of a plurality of charge transfer elements arranged to receive light from the outlet end as a picture element array; means for deriving illuminance signals from the picture element array of the light receiver; and means for treating the illuminance signals to detect the in-focused position of the optical system.

摘要: Microfluidic devices having active features such as valves, peristaltic pumps, and mixing portions are fabricated to have a thin elastomeric membrane over the active features. The active features are activated by a tactile actuator external to the membrane, for example, a commercial Braille display. The display may be computer controlled, for example by simple text editor software, to activate individual Braille protrusions or a plurality of protrusions to actuate the active portions of the microfluidic device. Integral devices can incorporate the tactile actuators in a single device, but still external to the membrane.

摘要: A program conversion apparatus including a machine-language storage unit and a conversion unit. The machine-language storage unit stores sets of two or more types of machine-language codes which correspond to components of a predetermined type included in instructions of a source program. The two or more types of machine-language codes in each set have different bit patterns. The conversion unit converts the instructions of the source program into the machine-language instructions. In this conversion, the conversion means converts each predetermined-type component selectively into one of the two or more types of machine-language codes so that the converted machine-language instructions have less digit-bit changes.
