Abstract: A method of processing a broadcast signal includes physical layer processing a plurality of packets into a plurality of data pipes to form a signal frame of the broadcast signal. Further, a packet includes an emergency alert message for an emergency alert service so that a data pipe carries the emergency alert massage, the emergency alert message including a message identifier (ID) for identifying the emergency alert message and a service ID identifying a service related to the emergency alert message. The physical layer processing further includes encoding data in each data pipe; bit interleaving the encoded data in each data pipe; and time interleaving the bit interleaved data in each data pipe according to a first mode or a second mode, the first mode represents that the time interleaving is performed based on convolutional interleaving operation, the second mode represents that the time interleaving is performed based on a combination of block interleaving operation and convolutional interleaving operation; and transmitting the broadcast signal. In addition, the broadcast signal further includes physical layer signaling information, the physical layer signaling information including a signaling information representing that the data pipe carries the emergency alert message and time interleaving signaling information related to the first mode and the second mode.

Further, the link layer packet includes a header and a payload, the header includes a base header, the base header includes packet type information for representing a first packet type, and segmentation concatenation information for representing that the payload carries a segment of a single input packet or multiple input packets, in response to the packet type information for a packet type extension, the header further includes an additional header for type extension, the additional header for type extension includes extended type information for representing a second packet type, and the extended type information is used for the second packet type different from the first packet type which is represented by the packet type information, and in response to the payload carrying the multiple input packets, the header further includes an additional header for concatenation, the additional header for concatenation includes count information for representing a number of the multiple input packets included in the link layer packet, and a value of the count information is set to a number of the multiple input packets included in the link layer packet subtracted by two; and transmitting a broadcast signal based on the link layer packet.

Abstract: A device with one or more processors for processing broadcast signals, the device including a depacketizing processor for extracting one or more delivery objects from one or more Layered Coding Transport (LCT) packets of the broadcast signals based on signaling information including mapping information, wherein the one or more LCT packet are used to transport the one or more delivery objects including service data for one or more broadcast services of the broadcast signals, wherein the one or more delivery object are carried in one or more transport sessions, wherein each LCT packet includes a header having a Transport Object Identifier (TOI) identifying a delivery object being carried in the each LCT packet, wherein the mapping information is used to establish a one-to-one mapping between the TOI and a uniform resource locator (URL) for the delivery object, wherein the one or more LCT packets and the signaling information are transmitted separately, wherein the header of each LCT packet further includes type information indicating whether a type of the delivery object being carried in the each LCT packet is a media segment type or an initialization segment type and a decoding processor for decoding the service data for the broadcast service.
