摘要: A method including advancing a delivery device through a lumen of a blood vessel to a particular region in the blood vessel; and introducing a composition including a sustained-release carrier and an apolipoprotein A-I (apo A-I) synthetic mimetic peptide into a wall of the blood vessel at the particular region or a perivascular site, wherein the peptide has a property that renders the peptide effective in reverse cholesterol transport. A composition including an apolipoprotein A-I (apo A-I) synthetic peptide, or combination of an apo A-I synthetic mimetic peptide and an Acyl CoA cholesterol: acyltransferase (ACAT) inhibitor in a form suitable for delivery into a blood vessel, the peptide including an amino acid sequence in an order reverse to an order of various apo A-I mimetic peptides, or endogenous apo A-I analogs, or a chimera of helix 1 and helix 9 of endogenous apo A-I.

摘要: A network element is configured to implement scheduled high-power Point-To-Point (PTP) and low-power Point-To-MultiPoint (TMP) transmissions. The high-power PTP and low-power PTMP transmissions may be scheduled as bursts on an 802.16 network to occur in both the downlink subframe and uplink subframe on a given frequency channel in the wireless network. The use of an air interface for both types of communications allows the PTP and PTMP communications to be scheduled relative to each other in a unified manner to increase quality of service and minimize interference between the backhaul PTP and access PTMP networks, even though the PTP and PTMP communications take place on the same channel using the same underlying wireless technology. Buffers may be used to store data received in a PTP downlink burst prior to transmission in a PTMP downlink burst, and may be used to store data received in an uplink PTMP burst prior to transmission in an uplink PTP burst.

摘要: Catheter-based systems for in-vivo targeted light therapy include a first type of catheter configured for photo-activating photosensitive substances in tissue, and a second type of catheter configured for photo-degrading photosensitive substances in tissue. The catheters may be configured to produce light using a variety of light sources, such as light emitting diodes (LEDs) and fiber optics. The light transmission is directed to tissue in such a way that only portions of tissue in a treatment area are exposed to light, depending upon whether the tissue is diseased or healthy.

摘要: A steel set assembly includes a first pair of legs and a second pair of legs with the first pair of legs being spaced from and positioned opposite the second pair of legs. First and second beams are provided with the first beam being secured to one leg of the first pair of legs and one leg of the second pair of legs. The second beam is secured to the other leg of the first pair of legs and the other leg of the second pair of legs. A panel is secured to the first and second beams and includes a base having a top surface and a bottom surface, a block having a top surface and a bottom surface, and a pad. The block is secured to the base and the pad is positioned between the top surface of the base and the bottom surface of the block.
