摘要: A method and an apparatus for verifying a multiplexing schedule of digital signals and an apparatus for multiplexing the digital signals are provided. The verifying method includes the processes of extracting access unit information about each decoding unit from each elementary stream of the digital signal, determining schedule information about time division of each elementary stream, based on the access unit information, and verifying whether or not the multiplexing schedule for generating the multiplexed stream is valid, based on the access unit information and the schedule information. The verifying apparatus includes an extracting section for extracting access unit information about a decoding unit from each elementary stream of the digital signal, a determining section for determining schedule information about time division of the elementary stream, based on the access unit information, and a verifying section for verifying whether or not the multiplexing schedule for generating the multiplexed stream is valid, based on the access unit information and the schedule information.

摘要: In multiplexing a plurality of coded data, degrees of difficulty of coding of the data are measured, coding rate for each of the data is decided by allotting a certain target bit rate with a ratio of the each of the measured degrees of difficulty of coding so that the bit rate of the multiplexed data becomes equal to the target bit rate, the data is then coded in response to the decided coding rates, and the coded data is multiplexed before being outputted to a transmission line or recording medium. Thus, the bit rate of the outputted data is always kept at the target value to improve the usage rate of a transmission line.

摘要: Only monitor side is caused to have decoding unit portion for bit stream, and reading unit portion for bit stream, decoding unit portion for bit stream and recording unit portion for bit stream are linked by digital network. Reproducing unit is caused to have a function to reproduce bit stream as it is, and recording unit is caused to have a function to record bit stream as it is. Bit stream reproducing unit and bit stream decoding unit of the monitor side, and such reproducing unit and bit stream recording unit are linked by high speed digital network. Thus, in the case where there is constructed a moving picture reproducing system such that a plurality of moving picture reproducing units are connected to one moving picture display unit to utilize source desired to see by selection of switch, cost can be reduced and degradation of the picture quality can be prevented.

摘要: The present invention provides a transcoder having a MPEG decoder and a MPEG encoder, for changing a GOP structure and the bit rate of an encoded bitstream obtained as a result of an encoding process. The MPEG encoder receives a past encoding parameters generated at a past encoding process as a history information, and performs a present encoding process by using the past encoding parameters selectively so that the present encoding process is optimized. Furthermore, the encoder describe the past encoding parameters into the encoded bitstream as the history information so as to reuse the history information in advance encoding process. The picture quality of the video data does not deteriorate even if decoding and encoding processes are carried out repeatedly by the transcoder.
