摘要： A pouch for containing a food product such as shredded cheese, and a novel method and apparatus for forming, filling and sealing the pouch. The method involves providing one or more webs of material to define a pair of walls for the pouch, orienting the web material so that the walls are substantially vertical, with the web having a horizontal longitudinal axis; providing interengageable strips of reclosable fastener material along the web adjacent the lower edges of the walls; forming vertical side seals; filling the pouches through their open bottoms while in inverted orientation; and sealing the bottoms of the pouches. Each of the strips of reclosable fastener material has one or more fastener members thereon. A peelable seal is provided between the product contained in the interior of the pouch and the reclosable fastener members. The peelable seal is preferably formed on the fastener strip material. The peelable seal is sealed prior to filling of the pouches so that product cannot contact the fastener members, and the fastener members are outside of the hermetic seal area. The pouch is preferably provided with a hole above the fastener members to receive a display hanger, and has a line of perforation above the fastener members and above the hole to facilitate removal of the upper portion of the pouch.

摘要： A recloseable package having recloseable profile strips with a heat barrier is disclosed. The profile strips have flange elements and recloseable , mated profile strips. The package is made by providing mated top and bottom profile strips, providing top and bottom package films on opposite sides of the mated strips and applying heat and pressure to the films adjacent the flanges sufficient to simultaneously form heat seals respectively between the top film and the top profile strip flange and between the bottom film and bottom profile strip flange. The heat barrier may comprise a thickened flange element, buffer strip or a coextrusion of high temperature resin on the inside layer of the flange element. The heat barrier prevents the flanges from fusing together during the formation of flange-film seals.

摘要： A profile strip has a closure element, made of a first material, which contains a base surface, and lateral webs or flanges extending from the base surface on each side of the closure element. An adhesive layer, made of a second material, different than the first material, is attached to the lateral webs, but not to the base surface, by co-extrusion of the adhesive layer with the lateral webs. The adhesive layer is subdivided into adhesive ribs, with each pair of the two adjacent ribs separated from each other by an adhesive-free area. Sub-dividing the adhesive layer into ribs separated by an adhesive-free area substantially eliminates the deformation of the lateral webs when they--and the adhesive ribs--are cooled after the coextrusion.

The film (1) is wound in a serpentine manner relative to the winding core (2). This roll film may be incorporated into an automatic bag producing and filling machine without any intricate operation. 摘要： A packing comprising first and second opposed surfaces in a closure area of the packing has profiled portions secured to and extending over each of the opposed surfaces, which profiled portions are adapted to be releasably interengaged to permit connection and disconnection of the opposed surfaces. The profiled portions are each formed integrally with an outer layer of a strip material secured to the associated one of the opposed surfaces. The outer layer of the strip material is formed of a material well suited for forming a peel seal weld with the other opposed surface of the packing, such as a portion of the outer layer of the opposing strip material. The outer layer of each strip material is secured to the one of the first and second opposed surfaces via a base layer of the strip material to which the outer layer is secured by means of a non-peel seal type connection. As a result, the sheet material of the packing, a bag for example, need not be formed of a peel seal weldable material.
