    摘要: A method of coarse enameling material, such as the surface of conventional rebar, which increases adhesion between the surface and a matrix, such as a cement-based mortar or concrete, in which the material is embedded. In one embodiment, a glass fit is fired onto a surface to achieve an enamel finish, the finish is then cooled and heat softened. A refractory material, such as dry portland cement, is applied to the heat softened enamel, and the resultant coarse coating is then fired and cooled to produce a final hard coarse enameled surface. The reaction of the refractory component in the coarse enameled surface upon insertion in fresh mortar or concrete prevents the formation of soft precipitates at the interface of the cementitious matrix and the coarse-enameled reinforcement. One embodiment involves adding portland cement Type I-II to a softened glass frit as a final coating over an initial base coating that if fired on the steel to prevent corrosion of the underlying steel. The coarse topcoat of enamel produces a strong chemical bond between it and a concrete or mortar matrix and the base coat of enamel eliminates or significantly reduces the potential for corrosion.

    摘要: A method for increasing the strength of concrete, including applying a coating of high- silica glaze to porcelain aggregate pieces, dispersing the glaze-coated porcelain aggregate pieces in a Portland cement matrix, bonding the high-silica glaze to the porcelain aggregate pieces, bonding the high-silica glaze to the Portland cement matrix, and curing the Portland cement matrix to yield high-strength concrete. The high-silica glaze further include silica and flux. The molar ratio of silica to flux is at least about 5 to 1 and the flux further comprises RO and R2O. The molar ratio of RO to R2O is at least about 7 to 3. RO is selected from the group including CaO, SrO, BaO, ZnO, FeO, PbO and their combinations and R2O is selected from the group including Li2O, Na2O, K2O, and their combinations.

    摘要: The invention relates to a luminous composition including hydraulic cement, a polymer, limestone and micro-capsules of an alkaline earth metal aluminate encapsulated in a light-transmitting resin, light-transmitting glass or combination thereof. The invention is also directed to a method of making a luminous composition. The method includes cooling an alkaline earth metal aluminate encapsulated in a light-transmitting resin, light-transmitting glass or combination thereof to a temperature of about −250 F to about −350 F and rendering the encapsulated aluminate into a powder comprising micro-capsules of the alkaline earth metal aluminate encapsulated in the light-transmitting resin, light-transmitting glass or combination thereof, wherein the micro-capsules range in size from about 0.7 μm to about 200 μm. The method then includes combining the aluminate powder with hydraulic cement, a polymer and limestone.

The sealant material is hydrated to create a cohesive seal. In a method of controlling erosion of a periodically or continuously inundated surface, a plurality of manufactured composite particles are placed around erosion-control objects. The composite particles include a sealant material which is a cohesive, low-permeability material when hydrated. The sealant material physically stabilizes the erosion-control objects on the surface. The invention also relates to compositions and properties of the composite particles.
