Abstract: A method including receiving a first row of display data for a first time period, and determining a value of a specified bit position for first portions of a first plurality of multi-bit portions in the first row. The method further includes receiving a second row of display data for a second time period, and determining a value of the specified bit position for second portions of a second plurality of multi-bit portions in the second row. Based on the determining, identifying second portions that indicate a change in the value of the specified bit position from the first time period to the second time period, and identifying an output channel associated with each identified portion. The method further includes grouping each identified output channel into a first or second group based on a polarity type, and connecting the identified output channels together within each group.

Abstract: A driving method for a liquid crystal display includes following steps: first sub-pixels are divided into array blocks, and at least one of the first sub-pixels is selected as a glowing pixel; an image to be displayed is received, a pixel signal of a liquid crystal pixel is acquired, and a high voltage panel driving signal and a low voltage panel driving signal of each first sub-pixel are achieved by looking up a table for the liquid crystal pixel; a high luminance signal and a low luminance signal for driving the glowing pixel are calculated according to the high voltage panel driving signal and the low voltage panel driving signal of the first sub-pixel in one array block, respectively; the glowing pixel are driven in turn by the high luminance signal and the low luminance signal, and the other first sub-pixels are driven by the pixel signal.

Abstract: A display apparatus includes a display panel, a memory, a bit-data convertor, a switch, and a gate driver. The display panel includes pixels. Each pixel is connected to one of the data lines and one of the gate lines. The memory stores a plurality of image data corresponding to a frame period. The bit-data convertor determines a plurality of bit data. Each of the bit data corresponds to a degree of change between adjacent image data among the plurality of image data, obtains a sum of the bit data, and outputs the sum of the bit data as a total count bit data value. The switch outputs a first pulse control signal corresponding to the total count bit data value. The gate driver generates a gate signal based on the first pulse control signal, and to output the gate signal to one of the gate lines.

Abstract: The present disclosure proposes an overcurrent orotection circuit of the GOA circuit. A voltage signal from a control signal source of the GOA circuit is converted into a current signal, and then the current signal is amplified. Subsequently, a product of the amplified current signal and a load resistor is compared with a threshold voltage. If the product is larger than the threshold voltage, a controller controls a switch to output a low voltage level signal to ensure that the GOA circuit is at overcurrent protected state. In this way, the panel is prevented from being damaged due to overabundant currents. Besides, the comparison of the amplified current signal is good for decreasing detection difficulties, enhancing precision of a measurement, and lowering risk of operation mistakes. Moreover, 2D and 3D modes in overcurrent protection through different load circuits improve the effect of protection.

Abstract: A display may have a first stage such as a color liquid crystal display stage and a second stage such as a monochromatic liquid crystal display stage that are coupled in tandem so that light from a backlight passes through both stages. The first (upper) stage may be a high resolution display panel that is operated at a first refresh rate while the second (lower) stage is a low resolution display panel that is operated at a second refresh rate that is greater than the first refresh rate. In particular, the second stage may be configured to provide localized dimming that is synchronized to one or more moving objects in the video frames to be displayed to help reduce the perceived motion blur. The localized dimming may be provided via insertion of a black image portion that only overlaps with the moving objects, a blanking row that tracks the moving objects, a black frame, etc.
