摘要: A system for capture of dose delivery information is provided. The system includes a medication delivery device, a dose information capture device adapted to be attached to the medication delivery device, and a target element adapted to be attached to the medication delivery device. The target element comprises a magnet or ferrous element and the target element attaches to the medication delivery device on a dose delivery mechanism of the medication delivery device. The dose information capture device includes a magnetic position sensor adapted to detect a position of the target element. As an alternative to magnetic sensing, MEMS flow sensors, and the like may also be used. Exemplary systems preferably transmit dose information in real time to remote devices for further processing.

摘要: A system and method enhance clinical effectiveness for monitoring for a change in a level of fluid in tissue by using a device attached to a body portion that wirelessly reports to a remote apparatus or receiver a current received power level for indications of extravasation or infiltration. Adjusting an activation rate of fluid detection, reporting or both extends service life of the device.

摘要: A method and system to monitor and autonomously configure an intravascular assembly without medical staff involvement or presence. In this solution, a robotic device is associated with an intravascular assembly, which has tubing through which fluids are delivered intravenously. Monitoring of the tubing is initiated. In response to the monitoring, an errant flow through the tubing is detected; typically, the errant flow results from one of: a kink or twist in the tubing, an air bubble in the tubing, an occlusion or clot in the tubing, and pressure variations. In response to detecting the errant flow, and in advance of an audible alarm being generated in association with the intravascular assembly, a command is then issued to the associated robotic device. The command is configured to initiate, by the robotic device, physical engagement with and mechanical manipulation of the tubing, thereby remediating the errant flow automatically.

摘要: The systems, methods and articles described herein are directed to at least one pressure sensor along a downstream fluid line which senses fluid pressure and assists an occlusion detection feature in determining the presence of occlusions in the downstream fluid line. In addition, the system can dynamically adapt the occlusion detection feature based on a delivery of fluid, such as a bolus, in order to prevent the system from creating a false alarm regarding an occlusion of the downstream fluid line.

摘要: A fluid handling cassette, such as that useable with an automated peritoneal dialysis (APD) cycler device or other infusion apparatus, may include a generally planar body having at least one pump chamber formed as a depression in a first side of the body and a plurality of flowpaths for a fluid that includes a channel. A patient line port may be arranged for connection to a patient line and be in fluid communication with the at least one pump chamber via at least a first one of said flowpaths, and an optional membrane may be attached to the first side of the body over the at least one pump chamber. In one embodiment, the membrane may have a pump chamber portion with an unstressed shape that generally conforms to the depression of the at least one pump chamber in the body and is arranged to be movable for movement of the fluid in a useable space of the at least one pump chamber. One or more spacers may be provided in the at least one pump chamber to prevent the membrane from contacting an inner wall of the at least one pump chamber. The patient line, a drain line, and/or a heater bag line may be positioned to be separately occludable in relation to one or more solution lines that are connectable to the cassette.

摘要: A wearable infusion pump assembly includes a reservoir for receiving an infusible fluid, and an external infusion set configured to deliver the infusible fluid to a user. A fluid delivery system is configured to deliver the infusible fluid from the reservoir to the external infusion set. The fluid delivery system includes a volume sensor assembly, and a pump assembly for extracting a quantity of infusible fluid from the reservoir and providing the quantity of infusible fluid to the volume sensor assembly. The volume sensor assembly is configured to determine the volume of at least a portion of the quantity of fluid. The fluid delivery system further includes at least one optical sensor assembly configured to sense the movement of the pump assembly, a first valve assembly configured to selectively isolate the pump assembly from the reservoir, and a second valve assembly configured to selectively isolate the volume sensor assembly from the external infusion set.

摘要: Infusion devices having multiple pumping segments connected in parallel to a fluid source and configured to operate together to pump a fluid from the fluid source are described herein. An infusion device includes a first deformable body coupled between the fluid source and an IV set and a second deformable body coupled between the fluid source and the IV set in parallel with the first deformable body. The first deformable body is configured to be hand-compressed and direct a portion of fluid from the first deformable body to an outlet of the IV set for administering the fluid to a patient at a first flow rate. The second deformable body is configured to be hand-compressed and direct another portion of fluid from the second deformable body to the outlet of the IV set for administering the fluid to the patient at a second flow rate.
