摘要: Various techniques are described to terminate a differential wire pair using combinations of CMCs, transformers, autotransformers, differential mode chokes (DMCs), and AC-coupling capacitors. The techniques improve the AC common mode insertion loss without attenuating the differential data signals, while easing the requirements of the CMC. In one example, an autotransformer, having a first winding, a second winding, and a center tap, is connected across a PHY, where the center tap provides a low impedance to ground for attenuating common mode noise. A CMC is coupled across the autotransformer and a pair of wires carrying differential data, where the CMC greatly attenuates common mode noise. The requirements of the CMC are reduced due to the autotransformer.

摘要: The present invention relates to data cable and methods of installing/building data cable. The cable disclosed herein is indoor/outdoor and can be configured as 4-twisted pair, or any of the numerous other types of data cable. In one embodiment, we disclose an electrical data cable comprising a plurality of insulated wires wherein the plurality of insulated wires is coupled for a first portion of the length of the data cable so as to form at least one twisted pair of wires; the plurality of insulated wires is configured in a flat, planar arrangement for a second portion of the data cable; and the plurality of insulated wires is coupled for a third portion of the length of the data cable so as to form at least one twisted pair of wires. In an alternate method, we disclose a method of attaching a connector to the electrical data cable comprising the steps of cutting the data cable at the untwisted segment and attaching a connector to the plurality of insulated wires in the untwisted segment.

摘要: High speed connector inserts and cables having improved heat conduction, high strength, and may be manufactured in a reliable manner. One example may provide a connector insert having several paths by which heat may be removed from circuitry in the cable insert. In one example, heat may be removed from one or more circuits by forming a thermal path between a circuit and a shield of the connector insert. Another path may include one or more pads on a side of an integrated circuit board that are soldered directly to the shield. A braiding surrounding a cable may be soldered or otherwise thermally connected to the shield. Another example may provide a cable having a braiding that includes one or more types of fibers, such as aramid fibers. Another example may provide for increased manufacturability by using a wire comb and a solder bar.

摘要: A plug for an electrical plug-type connector includes a plurality of plug contacts, which are electrically connected or connectable to a corresponding number of connecting elements, for example insulation displacement contacts, clamping contacts or possibly also soldered joints, each for connecting one electrical cable core. Per plug contact, one conductor is formed as a conductor track which is grown three-dimensionally on the surface of a plug body in the form of a cast plastics part and adheres there, and which both forms the plug contact and electrically connects the plug contact to the connecting element.
