摘要: A network device includes a wireless transceiver configured to establish a bi-directional communication channel with a network gateway. The network device also includes a visible light communication (VLC) interface configured to establish a visible light communication channel with a configurator for the network gateway. The network device further includes a controller configured to operate with the configurator to execute out-of-band (OOB) provisioning of the network device for the network gateway, wherein data communicated on the visible light communication channel includes a portion of information related to bootstrap provisioning the network device with the network gateway using the device provisioning protocol (DPP).

摘要: Methods, systems, and devices for facilitating the automated configuration of one or more new 802.11 access points (APs) are disclosed herein. A cloud server may receive a message associated with a customer account for one or more new APs. The cloud server may associate a first AP of the one or more new APs based on the message. The cloud server may then retrieve a public key associated with the first AP which has a reciprocal private key. The cloud server may send the public key to a gateway (GW) associated with the customer account. The GW may encrypt the GW credentials, such as a password and SSID, into a ciphertext using the public key and then broadcast this information. When the first AP has been powered on it may decrypt the ciphertext using the private key and use the credentials to act as a node in the GW's network.

摘要: This document describes an access point device and associated systems and methods. The techniques and systems include an access point device that includes a housing with an antenna carrier, a circuit board assembly, a heat sink, and a heat shield positioned within the housing. The housing includes a top housing member connected to a bottom housing member. The top housing member includes a concave-down top-end portion connected to a generally cylindrical vertical wall via rounded corners. The antenna carrier supports multiple antennas positioned proximate to an inner surface of the vertical wall. The heat sink is positioned between the antenna carrier and the circuit board assembly. The circuit board assembly is positioned between the heat shield and the heat sink, and the heat shield is positioned between the circuit board assembly and the bottom housing member.

摘要: A gateway device and system and method for use of the same are disclosed. In one embodiment, multiple wireless transceivers are located within an in-wall housing, which also interconnectedly includes a processor, memory, various physical ports and wireless transceivers. To improve convenience, the gateway device may establish a pairing with a proximate wireless-enabled interactive programmable device. Virtual remote control functionality for various amenities may then be provided. To improve safety, the gateway device may be incorporated into a geolocation and safety network.

摘要: A network server selects a gateway, from among a plurality of alternative candidate gateways, to use for downlink wireless communication to an end node (EN) based on additional factors in addition to RSSI. Exemplary additional factors include: SNR, gateway loading, message loading, backhaul network loading, device type, application type, application priority, operator preferences, device/application black-lists, white-lists, and red-lists, number of devices, number of transmitting devices in a given time interval, operator rules and priorities. In some embodiments, the network server calculates a composite weighted metric (CWM) for each of the alternative candidate gateways which may be used for downlink, subject to operator policy rules, and selects to use a gateway based on the results, e.g. selects the gateway with the highest CWM.

The interworking gateway serves as an agent of an internet of things server in an operator network, replaces the internet of things server to register and authenticate an internet of things terminal, and forwards a message between the internet of things server and the internet of things terminal. The interworking gateway is located in a same IP subnet or private network as a packet data network gateway or a user plane device in a telecommunications network. Based on an Internet Protocol (IP) address of the internet of things terminal, the interworking gateway may determine validity of the internet of things terminal and directly address the internet of things terminal.

摘要: A mapping service in the mobile core network located after a packet data network gateway examines content requests from user equipment across a first PDN connection to determine if content associated with the content request is cached at an edge server outside of the packet data network. If the content from the packet data network is cached at the edge server, the mapping service redirects the user equipment to request the content from the edge server across a second PDN connection. By using a mapping service located after the packet data network gateway, the content requests may have already passed restrictions such as parental controls.

摘要: A variety of techniques for concealing the content of a communication between a client device, such as a cell phone or laptop, and a network or cloud of media nodes are disclosed. Among the techniques are routing data packets in the communication to different gateway nodes in the cloud, sending the packets over different physical media, such as an Ethernet cable or WiFi channel, and disguising the packets by giving them different source addressees. Also disclosed are a technique for muting certain participants in a conference call and a highly secure method of storing data files.
