Abstract: A method includes receiving, from a plurality of user devices, a plurality of requests to transmit over a wireless fidelity (WiFi) network and in response to determining that the WiFi network cannot support the plurality of requests, determining that a first request of the plurality of requests should be supported by a cellular network. The method also includes instructing a first user device of the plurality of user devices that communicated the first request to perform transmissions corresponding to the first request over the cellular network.

Abstract: Some embodiments provide a method for performing radio access network (RAN) functions in a cloud at a user-level tracing application that executes on a machine deployed on a host computer in the cloud. The method receives data, via a RAN intelligent controller (RIC), from a RAN component. The method uses the received data to generate information related to traffic performance for at least one user. The method provides the generated information to the RIC.

Abstract: The present invention relates to methods and apparatus for providing backhaul wireless services using a plurality of different Radio Access Technologies. An exemplary method embodiment includes the steps of: determining a set of routes for the communication of data from a first wireless base station to a destination wireless base station over wireless backhaul communications links, the first wireless base station being an Integrated Access and Backhaul donor, receiving data of a first flow at the first wireless base station for communication to a first wireless user equipment device attached to the destination wireless base station; and selecting, at the first wireless base station, one or more of the routes of the set of routes from the first wireless base station to the destination wireless base station, the selection being based on multi-Radio Access Technology (multi-RAT) capability of wireless base stations of which a route is comprised.

Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to migrating network traffic from a licensed spectrum to an unlicensed spectrum within the same radio access technology (RAT). In one aspect, a method includes identifying a user device connected to a cellular wireless access technology, over a licensed spectrum; determining whether a condition for switching network traffic associated with the user device to an unlicensed spectrum is triggered; in response to determining that the condition is triggered, determining an unlicensed spectrum to move the network traffic to, the unlicensed spectrum being within a same cell as the licensed spectrum or in a different cell compared to a cell in which the licensed spectrum is; and migrating at least a portion of the network traffic to the unlicensed spectrum while maintaining network connectivity of the user device over the cellular wireless access technology.

Abstract: To provide a low latency near RT RIC, some embodiments separate the RIC's functions into several different components that operate on different machines (e.g., execute on VMs or Pods) operating on the same host computer or different host computers. Some embodiments also provide high speed interfaces between these machines. Some or all of these interfaces operate in non-blocking, lockless manner in order to ensure that critical near RT RIC operations (e.g., datapath processes) are not delayed due to multiple requests causing one or more components to stall. In addition, each of these RIC components also has an internal architecture that is designed to operate in a non-blocking manner so that no one process of a component can block the operation of another process of the component. All of these low latency features allow the near RT RIC to serve as a high speed IO between the E2 nodes and the xApps.
