Abstract: The present disclosure provides supports for microfluidic die that allow for nozzles of the microfluidic die to be on a different plane or face a different direction from electrical contacts on the same support. This includes a rigid support having electrical contacts on a different side of the rigid support with respect to a direction of ejection of the nozzles, and a semi-flexible support or semi-rigid support that allow the electrical contacts to be moved with respect to a direction of ejection of the nozzles. The semi-flexible and semi-rigid supports allow the die to be up to and beyond a 90 degree angle with respect to a plane of the electrical contacts. The different supports allow for a variety of positions of the microfluidic die with respect to a position of the electrical contacts.

Abstract: A MEMS device includes a fixed supporting body forming a cavity, a mobile element suspended over the cavity, and an elastic element arranged between the fixed supporting body and the mobile element. First, second, third, and fourth piezoelectric elements are mechanically coupled to the elastic element, which has a shape symmetrical with respect to a direction. The first and second piezoelectric elements are arranged symmetrically with respect to the third and fourth piezoelectric elements, respectively. The first and fourth piezoelectric elements are configured to receive a first control signal, whereas the second and third piezoelectric elements are configured to receive a second control signal, which is in phase opposition with respect to the first control signal so that the first, second, third, and fourth piezoelectric elements deform the elastic element, with consequent rotation of the mobile element about the direction.

Abstract: A method of processing electrophysiological signals includes: receiving, over a limited time duration, sample electrocardiography (ECG) signals indicative of heart pulsatile activity occurring with a variable heart rate, wherein receiving the sample ECG signals is discontinued at an expiry of the limited time duration; receiving photoplethysmography (PPG) signals indicative of the heart pulsatile activity; determining a correlation between the sample ECG signals and the PPG signals; determining reconstructed ECG signals from the PPG signals as a function of the correlation between the sample ECG signals and the PPG signals; and estimating a heart rate variability of the variable heart rate as a function of the reconstructed ECG signals.

Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a system that is configured to eject fluid vertically away from a thermal microfluidic die for use with scented oils or other fluids. The die is coupled to a rigid planar support board that separates the die from a reservoir of the fluid. The support board includes an opening that is lined with an inert liner that protects an interior surface of the support board from the fluid. The support board includes contact to an external power supply and contacts to the die on a first surface. The die is coupled to this first surface such that the second surface remains free of electrical connections.

Abstract: A sense-amplifier circuit can be used with a non-volatile memory device having a memory array with memory cells arranged in word lines and bit lines and coupled to respective source lines. The circuit has a first circuit branch and a second circuit branch, which receive on a respective first comparison input and second comparison input, during a reading step of a datum stored in a memory cell, a cell current from the bit line associated to the memory cell and a reference current, from a reference bit line in a differential reading operation or from a current-reference generator in a single-ended reading operation. The first and second circuit branches generate, during the datum-reading step, a first output voltage and a second output voltage, as a function of the difference between the cell current and the reference current.

Abstract: An accelerator device for use in generating a list of potential targets in a radar system, such as an anti-collision radar for a motor vehicle, may process radar data signals arranged in cells stored in a system memory. A cell under test in is identified as a potential target if the cell under test is a local peak over boundary cells and is higher than a certain threshold calculated by sorting range and velocity radar data signals arranged in windows. The cells identified as a potential target are sorted in a sorted list of potential targets. The accelerator device may include a double-buffering local memory for storing cell under test and boundary cell data; and a first and a second sorting unit for performing concurrent sorting of the radar data signals arranged in windows and the cells identified as a potential target in pipeline with accesses to the system memory.

Abstract: A method of interfacing a LC sensor with a control unit is provided. The control unit may include first and second contacts, where the LC sensor is connected between the first and the second contact. A capacitor is connected between the first contact and a ground. To start the oscillation of the LC sensor, the method may include during a first phase, connecting the first contact to a supply voltage and placing the second contact in a high impedance state such that the capacitor is charged through the supply voltage. During a second phase, the first contact may be placed in a high impedance state, and the second contact connected to the ground such that the capacitor transfers charge towards the LC sensor. During a third phase, the first contact and the second contact may be placed in a high impedance state so the LC sensor is able to oscillate.
