Abstract:
A compact wearable inhaler, vaporizer and/or atomizer is addressed by the wearable multifunctional inhaler, vaporizer and smartwatch of the present invention. In the best mode, the invention includes a housing with a chamber having at least port; a lid adapted to engage the housing and open the chamber in a first position and close the chamber in a second position; a source of inhalant mounted within the housing for sourcing inhalant into the chamber via the ports; and an mechanism coupled to the housing for wearing the device. The source of inhalant may be a vaporizer, pipe, inhaler or atomizer.
Abstract:
A method of presenting content on the user interface display screen of a portable electronic device includes the presentation of a plurality of icons. The icons scale in size in accordance with a position of the respective icons along a curved path.
Abstract:
Techniques for electrical power transfer in photovoltaic systems are provided. In one aspect, a photovoltaic system includes an array of photovoltaic power producing elements (e.g., concentrator photovoltaic cells); a power receiving unit; and at least one ratiometric DC to DC converter connected to both the array of photovoltaic power producing elements and the power receiving unit. The array of photovoltaic power producing elements can include a plurality of the photovoltaic power producing elements connected in series or in parallel. In another aspect, a method of transferring electrical power from an array of photovoltaic power producing elements to a power receiving unit includes the following step. At least one ratiometric DC to DC converter is connected to both the array of photovoltaic power producing elements and the power receiving unit. The at least one ratiometric DC to DC converter is configured to alter a voltage output from the array.
Abstract:
A process for conversion of methanol to olefins (MTO), including: contacting methanol and air in a methanol-to-olefins reactor; recovering an effluent from the methanol-to-olefins reactor comprising methanol, ethylene, and nitrogen oxides; separating the effluent via one or more reactive distillation and/or distillation stages using a hydrocarbon absorbent to recover a first fraction comprising ethylene and a second fraction comprising methane; wherein the separating comprises operating the one or more extractive distillation and/or distillation stages at temperatures and pressures sufficient to prevent any substantial conversion of nitrogen oxides to N2O3.

Abstract:
A radio frequency (RF) excited laser assembly includes a pair of opposed electrodes defining an inter-electrode gap and a conductive termination bridge in electrical contact with both electrodes. The termination bridge mechanically supports and positions the electrodes relative to each other and provides a termination impedance for an RF voltage applied to the electrodes. A conical spiral inductor includes one or more metals windings, and one or more concentric terminals, such that the conical spiral inductor defines an inter-winding spacing sufficient to mitigate ionization of a gas medium between windings. A radio frequency (RF) feed-through assembly configured to apply an RF voltage to a pair of opposing electrodes such that a conductor is isolated from a metal sleeve position around the conductor by ion sheath discharge barrier.
Abstract:
A device and methods for harvesting submersed wood are provided. The device comprises, a machine operatively associated with a movable boom member rotatably attached. A telescoping stick having a first and second end is pivotally attached to the movable boom in a mid portion of the stick. The second end of the telescoping stick is attached to a wood gripping-cutting head. The telescoping stick is moveable to an operative position so that the second end extends below a plane defined by a surface the machine is located upon. When in use, the second end may extend into water located below the plane defined by the surface the machine is located upon. The device may be used on land, a dock, and a wharf adjacent a water edge, or the device may be located on a floating platform.

Abstract:
A system and method for tracking user security credentials in a distributed computing environment. The security credentials of an authenticated user includes not just his unique user identifier, but also a set of security attributes such as the time of authentication, the location where the user is authenticated (i.e., intranet user v. internet user), the authentication strength, and so on. The security attributes are used in access control decisions. The same user can be given different authorization if he has a different security attribute value. Security credentials may be generated either by WebSphere security code or by third party security provider code. This invention stores the user credentials in a distributed cache and provides a system and method to compute the unique key based on the dynamic security credentials for cache lookup.
