    Abstract: A triaxial laid scrim includes a first, second and third set of continuous fibers. The fibers of each set are regularly spaced apart and are parallel to each other. The fibers of the first set are parallel to the warp direction or to the weft direction of the scrim. The fibers of the second set and the third set are oriented symmetrically to each other, respectively at an angle of 30°-80° with respect to the fibers of the first set. Distances between the fibers of the second set and the fibers of the third set are identical. The fibers of the second set cross the fibers of the third set at the intersection thereof with the fibers of the first set, thereby defining regular openings having an isosceles triangle shape. The fibers are coated and attached to each other by a coating that does not fill-up the triangle-shaped openings.

    Abstract: A screen includes a mesh substrate having an openness of greater than 30% when viewed at 0° incidence, the mesh substrate having a first major surface and a second major surface, the first major surface including a first coating, the first major surface having a first reflectance value, wherein the first reflectance value has an average value of greater than about 10% as measured by an EN410 standard and a diffuse reflection profile at all viewing angles from −89° to 89°, excluding an angle of direct illumination as measured by a scattering distribution function technique using a Goniometer, wherein the diffuse reflection profile provides a reduction in view through the mesh substrate when viewed from −89° to 89°.

    Abstract: A glass mat is provided. The glass mat includes an assembly of glass fibers; and a binder composition including a polymer resin and a crosslinker. The polymer resin has a pH of at least about 5.0. The polymer resin includes a styrenic copolymer, an acrylic copolymer, or combination thereof having at least one functional group of a carboxylic acid, a salt of a carboxylic acid, an anhydride, a salt of an anhydride, or combination thereof. The crosslinker includes a polyol, a polyepoxy, a polycarbodiimide, a polyaziridine, a bivalent metal carbonate, or combination thereof. Further provided is a method of making the glass mat.

    Abstract: A composite reinforcement includes a first nonwoven mat. A laid scrim overlies the first nonwoven mat, the laid scrim including a first plurality of yarns substantially oriented in a first direction and a second plurality of yarns substantially oriented in a second direction different from the first direction. The second plurality of yarns includes at least one different material from the first plurality of yarns and each of the yarns in the second plurality of yarns includes a tension greater than a tension of each of the yarns in the first plurality of yarns. A second nonwoven mat overlies the laid scrim, and a binder laminates the first nonwoven mat, the laid scrim, and the second nonwoven mat together to form the composite reinforcement.
