Abstract:
The invention is directed to methods of inducing cell recruitment and tissue regeneration at a target site in a subject. It is also based, in part, on the discovery that a subject's own biologic resources and environmental conditions can be used for in situ tissue regeneration and thereby reduce or eliminate the need for donor cell procurement and ex vivo manipulation of such donor cells. Methods are disclosed for recruitment of a subject's own stem cells to a target region by inducing a sustained positive pressure at a target site, such as the kidney, thereby increasing the number of pluripotent cells capable of differentiating to regenerate the target tissue.
Abstract:
A fluid treatment apparatus capable of maximizing contact area between a fluid and electrodes in the apparatus to improve corrosion resistance or combustion efficiency includes a housing having an inlet port and an outlet port for the water at both ends of the housing, and a plurality of first electrodes installed in the housing for generating a potential difference through delivery of electrons at a contact surface between the fluid and the electrodes. The first electrodes are disc shaped and have a water passing hole formed in a center portion. The first electrodes being arranged in parallel in a direction perpendicular to a main flow direction of the fluid, so as to form a channel between the first electrodes to branch and guide a main flow.
Abstract:
Provided herein are anisotropic muscle implants that have a biodegradable scaffold comprising a plurality of fibers oriented along a longitudinal axis. The implants may include mammalian muscle cells seeded and/or fused into myotubes on the scaffold. Methods of forming the muscle implants are provided, as are methods of treating a subject in need of skeletal muscle reconstruction.
Abstract:
Provided are a touch pad device and a method of detecting a contact position thereof. The touch panel device includes: a touch panel having a surface on which at least one pair of touch patterns formed of a conductive material are formed; and a touch sensor for generating a contact signal corresponding to a contact position of a contact object using impedances of a pair of touch patterns when the pair of touch patterns are contacted by the contact object. The touch panel device includes a plurality of pairs of touch patterns formed of a conductive material. A first axis position of a contact object is determined depending on whether or not the touch patterns are contacted by the contact object, and a second axis position of the contact object is determined by detecting variations in capacitance of the touch patterns or delay times by which a reference signal applied to the touch patterns is delayed. Thus, a contact position of the contact object can be detected using the first and second axis positions. Since the touch panel uses a one-layer ITO film, manufacturing the touch panel device with improved transparency can be easy and economical.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus having a plurality of operations and a warming up method thereof, the image forming apparatus including: a user interface to receive a setting of a usage right of a user for a plurality of operations of the image forming apparatus and a login of the user while the image forming apparatus is in a power save mode; and a controller to perform a warming up for at least one operation corresponding to the usage right according to the login.
Abstract:
Test devices and integrated circuits with improved productivity are provided. In accordance with example embodiments, a test device may include a first test region with a first test element and a second test region with a second test element defined on a semiconductor substrate. The first test element may include a pair of first secondary test regions in the semiconductor substrate and a pair of first test gate lines. One of the first test gate lines may overlap one of the first secondary test regions and the other first test gate line may overlap the other first secondary test region. The second test element may include structures corresponding to the first test element except the second test element does not include structures corresponding to the pair of first secondary test regions and the pair of first test gate lines.
Abstract:
Provided is a structure of an air-tight reclosable processed food container in which a lid can be easily opened, can be reclosed for maintaining a remaining food, and can be checked by the user whether it has been opened or not prior to purchasing the food. The air-tight reclosable processed food container, an upper part of which is opened and includes a container body that forms a space with a bottom surface and an container wall and a lid coupled to the container body capable of being opened and closed. The container body includes a container flange formed to extend horizontally along an upper circumference of a container wall and a coupling groove is formed along an upper inner circumference of the container wall, a container leaf formed to extend downward from the container flange, and a container handle formed to extend horizontally from an arbitrary point of the container leaf. The processed food container can maintain a remaining food in a sealed state since it can be sealed air-tight by a coupling groove of the container body and the coupling unit of the lid. Also, a user can easily determine whether the lid has been opened or not prior to purchasing the food since the container handle and the lid handle are heat junctioned.
Abstract:
Provided are a method and apparatus for improving a dynamic range of an image. The method of improving a dynamic range of an image, which is obtained by a sensor unit of an image capture device, includes: creating an input image by using the sensor unit which has a plurality of lines and has different integration times for the individual lines; and creating an interpolated image by performing interpolation filtering on the input image by using neighboring lines of a current line which have different integration times.
Abstract:
A rotary manipulation type input device is disclosed. The rotary manipulation type input device may include: a wheel, which may receive information as input by rotation; a sensor unit, which may sense a rotation of the wheel; and a switch, which may generate an on/off signal for connecting and disconnecting a power supply to the sensor unit. This configuration can be used to reduce power consumption in the rotary manipulation type input device.
Abstract:
A light emission device is provided having a first substrate and a second substrate facing each other with a gap therebetween. An electron emission unit is located on one side of the first substrate to emit electrons toward the second substrate. A light emission unit is located on one side of the second substrate to emit visible light by the electrons. A plurality of spacers are provided between the first substrate and the second substrate. The plurality of spacers have a height of about 5 mm-30 mm.
