Abstract:
The invention is directed to methods of inducing cell recruitment and tissue regeneration at a target site in a subject. It is also based, in part, on the discovery that a subject's own biologic resources and environmental conditions can be used for in situ tissue regeneration and thereby reduce or eliminate the need for donor cell procurement and ex vivo manipulation of such donor cells. Methods are disclosed for recruitment of a subject's own stem cells to a target region by inducing a sustained positive pressure at a target site, such as the kidney, thereby increasing the number of pluripotent cells capable of differentiating to regenerate the target tissue.
Abstract:
A centrifugal fan includes a main shroud and a sub shroud. The main shroud is configured to connect upper ends of outer rims of a plurality of blades spaced apart from one another in a circumferential direction of a base. The sub shroud is provided at the upper end of the outer rim of each blade and serves to prevent air from moving from a pressure surface to a negative pressure surface of each blade by passing over an upper end of the blade.
Abstract:
A compact, flexible device capable of receiving a human finger which allows a person to easily and efficiently smooth filler material into a desired space, while also allowing the user to handle other objects and/or complete other tasks without removing the device from his or her person.
Abstract:
A negative hole is formed by etching a dielectric layer that includes at least a lower dielectric sublayer and an upper dielectric sublayer. The lower dielectric sublayer and the upper dielectric sublayer have substantially the same permittivity, and the lower dielectric sublayer may have a higher etching rate lower than the upper dielectric sublayer. The negative hole formed in the upper and lower dielectric sublayers has an etched profile with a protruded portion protruding from at least the boundary between the lower dielectric sublayer and the upper dielectric sublayer. With various embodiments of the disclosed invention, resistance between the cathode and the gate may be secured to prevent arc generation and signal distortion.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a diamond tool having a metal plate inserted therein. Between abrasive layers containing diamond particles is inserted a ferrous or non-ferrous metal plate having a wear resistance lower than that of the abrasive layers such that a concave groove is spontaneously formed during a cutting process, thereby reducing the contact load with a workpiece to thereby avoid vibration (wobbling) of a shank, and providing a discharge path for smoothly removing cutting chips and the cooling water. In addition, the content of abrasives and the wear resistance of bonding material are uniformly constituted so that the shrinkage rate does not need to be considered during sintering and the manufacturing process can be simplified, thereby reducing the manufacturing cost and improving the productivity therefor. Furthermore, the area of the metal plate can be controlled, thereby enabling an easy design conforming to the working conditions with a workpiece.
Abstract:
Provided herein are anisotropic muscle implants that have a biodegradable scaffold comprising a plurality of fibers oriented along a longitudinal axis. The implants may include mammalian muscle cells seeded and/or fused into myotubes on the scaffold. Methods of forming the muscle implants are provided, as are methods of treating a subject in need of skeletal muscle reconstruction.
Abstract:
Disclosed are a system and a method for printed matter security. A method for printed matter security according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention includes: receiving policy information, information of a monitoring application program, and pattern information of personal information from a security server; inserting a printing interruption module in the monitoring application program when the monitoring application program corresponding to the information of the application program is executed; storing a content of a printing request by interrupting the printing request of the monitoring application program by the printing interruption module; verifying whether the personal information is included in the content of the printing request, using the pattern information; and performing an information protection function corresponding to the policy information when the personal information is included in the content of the printing request.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a fresh water separator including a dilute draw solution chamber, at least one first membrane contactor which receives a fluid fed from the dilute draw solution chamber so that gas and fresh water can be separated from the fluid, a second membrane contactor which enables the separated gas to be dissolved in a fluid flowing in the second membrane contactor so that the separated gas is re-concentrated, and a vacuum pump which cooperates with the first membrane contactor and the second membrane contactor, and to a forward osmotic desalination device including the fresh water separator.
Abstract:
The present invention relates a method for forming a pattern includes the steps of forming a thin film on a substrate, coating a photoresist film on the thin film, aligning a mask over the photoresist film, the mask formed on a base material, including a light shielding portion having a linear supporting portion and an uneven portion at a boundary of the supporting portion, and a transmission portion defined at regions excluding the light shielding portion, exposing the photoresist film with the mask thereon to a UV beam of a wavelength greater than 300nm to cause refraction in the vicinity of the uneven portion, and developing the photoresist film exposed thus to form a photoresist film pattern, and patterning the thin film by using the photoresist film pattern thus formed.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a camera module directly mountable on a main substrate without a socket.A camera module according to the present invention includes a lens barrel having at least one lens stacked therein; a housing having the lens barrel coupled with the upper portion thereof and having a plurality of contactor insertion grooves formed on the lower end surface thereof; and a plurality of contactors mounted in the housing, whereby the mounting process of the camera module can be simplified without using a separate socket and the mounting height of the camera module is lowered by not using the socket to be suitably mounted the camera module in the slim type of electronic products.
