摘要： Described is a pyridine derivative represented by the following formula (1): ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 individually represent H, an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, a hydroxyalkyl group, an alkoxyalkyl group which may have a substituent, a carboxyalkyl group, an alkoxycarbonylalkyl group, an aralkyl group which may have a substituent, a phenacyl group or an acyl group, R.sup.3 represents an alkyl group, a phenyl group which may have a substituent, a heteroaryl group or a cyclic amino group, X represents O or combination of OH and H, or a salt thereof; and a medicament, such as cytokine production suppressant, comprising the derivative or salt thereof as an effective ingredient. The invention compound has potential, highly specific and highly safe immunoregulating capacity so that it can suppress the excessive production of a specific cytokine in various diseases related to the immune system.

摘要： A method is provided which performs word recognition using the dynamic recurrent neural networks (DRNN) model and which is able to discriminate, with high precision, similar words for which misrecognition often occurs. When the vocal sounds of some words are input, the DRNN output corresponding to the input word vocal data is generated by the word detection signal output component using the DRNN word model and encoded into coded data by using a code book. When the DRNN output from the word detection signal output component has a correctness of a predetermined or greater level, a processor establishes a fixed period that includes the characteristic components of the input words in the DRNN output. The processor then examines the code data in the established fixed period. Discrimination of input words and words that are similar to the input words is accomplished on the basis of the examination results.

摘要： The magnetic properties of rare earth magnet are improved by means of forming a novel structure of the cast alloy used for the production of a rare earth magnet, which contains from 27 to 34% by weight of at least one rare earth element (R) including yttrium, from 07 to 1.4% by weight of boron, and the balance being essentially iron and, occasionally any other transition element, and comprises an R.sub.2 T.sub.14 B phase, an R-rich phase and optionally at least one ternary phase except for the R.sub.2 T.sub.14 B phase and the R-rich phase. The novel structure is that the volume fraction (V) in percentage of said R.sub.2 T.sub.14 B phase and said at least one ternary phase is more than 138-1.6r (with the proviso that r is the content of R), the average grain size of the R.sub.2 T.sub.14 B phases is from 10 to 100 .mu.m and, further, the average spacing between the adjacent R-rich phases is from 3 to 15 .mu.m. The novel structure can be formed by by means of feeding alloy melt onto a rotary casting roll, cooling in a temperature range of from melting point to 1000.degree. C. at a cooling rate of 300.degree. C. per second or more, and further cooling in a temperature range of from 800 to 600.degree. C. at a cooling rate of 1.degree. C./second or less.

摘要： A technique for improving speech recognition in low-cost, speech interactive devices. This technique calls for implementing a speaker-specific word enrollment and detection unit in parallel with a word detection unit to permit comprehension of spoken commands or messages issued by binary questions when no recognizable words are found. Preferably, specific speaker detection will be based on the speaker's own personal list of words or expression. Other facets include complementing non-specific pre-registered word characteristic information with individual, speaker-specific verbal characteristics to improve recognition in cases where the speaker has unusual speech mannerisms or accent and response alteration in which speaker-specification registration functions are leveraged to provide access and permit changes to a predefined responses table according to user needs and tastes.

摘要： A number of embodiments of precombustion chamber configurations for two-cycle crankcase compression diesel engines. The precombustion chamber and its communicating throat are oriented so as to maintain a uniform fuel distribution in the precombustion chamber and to provide good flow into the main combustion chamber that will provide a homogeneous mixture without the flow being directed toward the exhaust port at the time the exhaust port is open. A number of embodiments show constructions that permit uniformity of tumble action in the precombustion chamber and a high velocity for the tumble action to improve turbulence and mixing. All of these factors go together to reduce NOx emissions.

摘要： An electric rotating machine comprises a rotor body of cylindrical structure and a stator body covering an outer peripheral portion of the rotor body in a non-contact fashion. The stator body includes a stator winding formed with an insulation layer and arranged radially outward of the rotor body with a clearance from the rotor body and a stator core which supports the stator winding. The electrostatic capacity of the stator winding is measured by an electrostatic capacity measuring instrument which comprises a housing having a size allowing the housing to be accommodated in the clearance between the rotor body and the stator winding, a support body detachably secured to the rotor body and adapted to support the housing within the clearance to be movable, and a measuring element mounted to the housing on the side of the housing facing the stator winding and adapted to measure electrostatic capacity of the stator winding, wherein a degree of water penetration into the insulation of the stator winding is determined based on a measurement data from the measuring element.
