摘要: Solid electrolytes have a favorable combination of properties such as high conductivity, high transference number, optimum processability, and low brittleness. A composite electrolyte includes some amount of a class of network polymer electrolytes with high transference number and high room temperature conductivity, and an additional polymeric component to contribute mechanical integrity and/or processability. The solid electrolytes can include a network polymer having linked nodes composed of a tetrahedral arylborate composition and a linear polymer combined with the network polymer as a composite. The solid electrolytes can be used in thin films and in solid-state batteries.

摘要: Devices, systems, and techniques for identifying a dendrite material within a battery. The method comprising receiving, by a battery management system, an output from sensing circuitry within the battery indicative of a first voltage level, detecting, by the battery management system, a change from the first voltage level to a second voltage level that is indicative of an internal short within a sensing sheet, determining by the battery management system, a resistance and a two-dimensional position of the internal short within the sensing sheet, and identifying, by the battery management system, a dendrite material based on the resistance of the internal short.

The method including receiving at least one measured characteristic of the battery over a pre-defined time horizon from the at least one sensor, receiving at least one estimated characteristic of the battery from a electrochemical-based battery model based on differential algebraic equations, determining a cost function of a Moving Horizon Estimation based on the at least one measured characteristic and the at least one estimated characteristic, updating the electrochemical-based battery model based on the cost function, estimating at least one state of the at least one battery cell by applying the electrochemical-based battery model, and regulating at least one of charging or discharging of the battery based on the estimation of the at least one state of the at least one battery cell.

摘要: A system and/or method for replenishing lithium-ion battery capacity that is lost due to side reactions over the lifetime of a battery in one embodiment includes a battery with a first electrode, a second electrode, a separator region configured to electronically isolate the first and second electrodes, a first portion of lithium metal encapsulated within a first ionically insulating barrier configured to prevent transport of lithium ions therethrough, a memory in which command instructions are stored, and a processor configured to execute the command instructions to (i) determine a first lithium content of the first electrode, (ii) compare the first lithium content of the first electrode to a first threshold, and (iii) activate the first portion of lithium metal based on the comparison of the first lithium content to the first threshold.
