Abstract: A method of controlling communications within a wireless communications network is provided. The method comprises communicating, with a first infrastructure equipment acting as a donor node, signals representing data by a second of the infrastructure equipment over a first communications path via one or more others of infrastructure equipment acting as relay nodes, the second infrastructure equipment being a child node and one of the one or more other infrastructure equipment acting as the relay nodes or the donor node being a parent node, the parent node being connected to the child node via a backhaul communications link and configured to allocate uplink communications resources to the child node.

Abstract: A receiver circuitry configured to receive, from infrastructure equipment of the wireless telecommunications network, a signal comprising positioning information for allowing a spatial position of the terminal device to be determined using the positioning information and a predetermined positioning scheme associated with the positioning information, the positioning scheme comprising one or more of instructions and additional information for determining the position of the terminal device using the positioning information, wherein the positioning information is comprised within a system information block (SIB) of the received signal; and processing circuitry configured: to determine, based on a characteristic of the SIB, a temporal validity of the received positioning information, and to determine, at a time at which the received positioning information is temporally valid, the spatial position of the terminal device using the received positioning information and the predetermined positioning scheme.

Abstract: A method for operating an infrastructure equipment forming part of a wireless communications network is provided. The infrastructure equipment is a non-terrestrial network part of the wireless communications network configured to transmit one or more spot beams to provide a wireless access interface for transmitting signals to and receiving signals representing data from a communications device within a coverage region of a cell or one of the spot beams, the spot beam forming a cell. Abstract: A method for transmitting data by an infrastructure equipment in a wireless communications network to a communications device, the method comprising transmitting by the infrastructure equipment a paging message; receiving by the infrastructure equipment a random access request, the random access request transmitted by the communications device in response to the paging message; in response to receiving the random access request, transmitting by the infrastructure equipment an indication of communications resources allocated for a transmission by the infrastructure equipment and transmitting by the infrastructure equipment an indication that the transmission by the infrastructure equipment comprises data to be transmitted while no radio connection is established between the communications device and the infrastructure equipment: and transmitting by the infrastructure equipment the data using the allocated communications resources.

The communications device is configured to perform measurements for evaluating a quality of the plurality of cells including one or more beams on signals received from each of the detected beams, to determine from the evaluation of each of the cells, and if one or more of the cells satisfies predetermined conditions to perform a process for identifying one or more of the cells which should be used by the communications device for transmitting data.

Abstract: An infrastructure equipment (eNodeB) is configured to transmit a paging notification which indicates that configuration information which is broadcast in a cell to all communications devices which are configured to operate in accordance with a network controlled function has changed. Communications devices which are configured to perform the network controlled function are provided with an indication that they should receive the configuration information which is broadcast in order to reconfigure the network controlled function. A communications device which is not configured to perform the network controlled function may not recognise the paging notification or at least may detect that it does not need to receive the updated configuration information for the network controlled service. Such communications devices may therefore remain in an idle mode thereby saving power.
