摘要: A thermal printing apparatus includes an intermediate medium. A color developing layer transfer member includes a first base member and a color developing layer on a surface of the first base member. A dye layer transfer member includes a second base member and a dye layer on a surface of the second base member. The dye layer contains dye. At least a part of the color developing layer is transferred from the color developing layer transfer member onto the intermediate medium in response to at least one of heat and pressure. The dye is transferred from the dye layer of the dye layer transfer member onto the color developing layer on the intermediate medium to form a recorded picture on the color developing layer in response to both heat and pressure while the dye layer on the dye layer transfer member and the color developing layer on the intermediate medium are in contact with each other. The color developing layer with the recorded picture is transferred from the intermediate medium onto an image receptor. A releasing device is operative for implementing separation between the intermediate medium and one of the color developing layer transfer member and the dye layer transfer member. The releasing device includes a releasing blade and a belt support member associated with the releasing blade. The releasing blade engages one of the color developing layer transfer member and the dye layer transfer member. The belt support member supports the intermediate medium along one of a flat plane or an outwardly-projecting plane.

摘要: An electric pump is turned ON and OFF by a main drive circuit including a negative pressure sensor for detecting a negative pressure in an accumulator, a first relay and a control device, and also turned ON and OFF by a back-up drive circuit including a negative pressure switch for detecting a negative pressure in an accumulator, and a second relay. For a period from the starting of the electric pump by the back-up drive circuit to the stopping of the electric pump by the main drive circuit, there is a period during which the electric pump is being driven only by the back-up drive circuit and a period during which the electric pump is being driven only by the main drive circuit. For each of these periods, a trouble of the main drive circuit and/or the back-up drive circuit can be determined by reference to a check signal indicative of the operational state of the electric pump. Thus, it is possible to reliably detect a trouble with the driving of the electric pump connected to the accumulator.

摘要: A thermal transfer printing method, in a combination of a transfer medium including a support on which at least a dyeing layer and a dye anti-diffusion layer (and a protecting layer) are provided separately from color layers, an intermediate medium, and an image-receiving medium, comprising steps of: transferring at least the dye anti-diffusion layer and the dyeing layer (and the protecting layer) onto the intermediate medium, thereby forming a sequential laminate on the intermediate medium; printing a thermal transfer image in the dyeing layer of the laminate formed on the intermediate medium; and transferring the laminate carrying the thermal transfer image thereon from the intermediate medium onto the image-receiving medium (and fixing it simultaneously, or after transferring), thereby finally forming a print image on the image-receiving medium. A novel image-forming layer transfer medium used in the above thermal transfer printing method, has various properties in area of each layer, thermal characteristics, arrangement of respective layers etc. According to the printing method and the image-forming layer transfer medium, the print image obtained causes no contamination by dyestuff and print density is not lowered by the loss of dyestuff, bringing high-temperature stability in maintaining the transfer medium in a wound condition, and/or realizing a low-temperature transfer operation of the image-forming layer onto the image-receiving medium.

摘要: The ejection driving pulse is a voltage waveform including: a first variation section; a hold section; and a second variation section. The second variation section includes: a first variation component in which the potential is varied in the second direction from the termination potential of the first variation section; an intermediate hold component in which the termination potential of the first variation component holds for a given time; and a second variation component in which the potential is varied in the second direction from the termination potential of the first variation component. The potential of the intermediate hold component is in the range from 50% to 60% of the potential of the hold section. A potential inclination of the second variation component is steeper than a potential inclination of the first variation component.

摘要: In a drive circuit for driving a liquid crystal display element with a memory property, electric charges accumulated in a power-supply smoothing capacitor at the subsequent stage of a booster circuit are collected effectively after electricity is supplied to the liquid crystal display element. The drive circuit for driving the liquid crystal display element with a memory property supplies a boosted voltage to the driver circuit by turning on a first switch circuit while the liquid crystal display element is being reset or while an image is being rendered, and causing electric charges accumulated in the power-supply smoothing capacitor to be discharged while collecting them into a second battery by turning on a second switch circuit during a period in which electric charges accumulated in the power-supply smoothing capacitor should be discharged.
