Abstract:
A dispersion plating method in which plating is conducted while plating liquid containing both abrasive grains of a size larger than 10 .mu.m and another grains is brought into contact with the surface of an object to be plated, the latter grains then being removed by washing with water with only abrasive grains being entrapped in a metal matrix. Plating liquid is circulated through a filter of a filtering size smaller than the average grain size of abrasive grains and the abrasive grains are made into a flocculating condition and adhered to the surface of object to be plated. Furthermore, abrasive grains are adhered to the surface of object to be plated in a plating thickness of less than one half of average grain size of abrasive grains.
Abstract:
For address identification of a cache memory, a part of address bits of a logical address which are subject to address translation through a TLB and a part of address bits of the logical address which are not subject to address translation are applied in combination to an address array of the cache memory. Synonym generation is detected in response to buffer miss and synonym invalidation is executed in the buffer address array.
Abstract:
The instrumentation of sizes of a retinal vessel in the fundus is carried out by measuring continuously the sizes of the retinal vessel changing in accordance with heart beats at a site preset on the arteriole or the venule of the retinal vessel from images of the retinal vessel in the fundus continuously taken by a television camera or other photographic means; and comparing a periodical change of the sizes of the arteriole or venule of the retinal vessel. Static images are extracted at a given interval from fundus images photographed continuously by a television camera or recorded in a video tape recorder and converted into digital image which, in turn, is subjected to image processing. A length of the processed image data is measured at a given site of the image data fetched at a given timing from a storage, and a graph of rectangular coordinates is formed with a time coordinate versus a coordinate of measured values.
Abstract:
An information recording disc having a first recording area carrying a digital signal, a second recording area carrying a frequency modulated video signal and a superimposed digital signal, the first and second recording areas respectively having a lead-in area in which index codes relating to the contents of each recording area and including identification information indicating the recording area to which each index code belongs are recorded mixedly. In playing such a recording disc, index codes read from the lead-in area are classified according to the recording area to which each index code belongs, and stored in corresponding memory areas of a memory device, so that the index codes stored in the memory area corresponding to a designated recording area can be retreived in a short time for playing information, and the playing operation is controlled by using the retrieved index codes.
Abstract:
An arithmetic system includes an arithmetic unit of a pipeline structure for executing arithmetic operations for instructions which require different arithmetic cycles. The arithmetic unit executes N arithmetics in pipeline for N instruction at maximum. Initiation of arithmetic operation for a new instruction in the arithmetic unit is indicated by an indicator which detects that each of the instruction executed in the arithmetic is N cycles before completion of the execution and allows arithmetic operation for the new instruction to be initiated in the succeeding cycle.
Abstract:
A development apparatus has a developer supporting member having a magnet therein and a thickness controlling member for the developer, the developer being a magnetic one-component developer which is applied to the surface of the developer supporting member by means of the thickness controlling member, the applied surface of the developer supporting member being brought into a position opposed to a latent-image carrying member to develop the latent image thereon, the surface of the developer supporting member being roughened by sand blast treatment with irregularly shaped and/or sized particles.
Abstract:
Guanidinobenzoic acid derivatives represented by the general formula [I] ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and Z are as defined hereinafter, having antiplasmin and anti-trypsin activities and process for their preparation as well as a pharmaceutical composition and a method of inhibiting the activity of plasmin and trypsin is disclosed.
Abstract:
An electrophotographic process involving the repeated cycles of a developing step for developing an electrostatic latent image formed on a latent image carrying member with a liquid developer, a transfer step for transferring the thus obtained visible image from said latent image carrying member onto another member, and a cleaning step for subsequently cleaning the surface of said latent image carrying member, comprising the use of an elastic rotary member composed of an electroconductive rigid core member, an electroconductive porous elastic member capable of retaining a liquid therein and provided around said core member, and a liquid-permeable insulating flexible member of a thickness in the range of 20 to 400 microns provided to surround the outer periphery of said elastic member, said elastic rotary member being maintained in pressure contact with said latent image carrying member, whereby said developing step is achieved by the liquid developer squeezed out from said elastic rotary member and the excessive liquid developer present on said latent image carrying member is recovered therefrom by absorption upon recovery of said elastic rotary member from the compressed state thereof.
Abstract:
An elastic roller for use in an image forming apparatus comprises a rigid shaft member, an internal layer provided around said shaft member with a determined thickness and consisting of a porous elastic member containing therein pores for holding liquid, and an external layer covering said internal layer and consisting of a flexible liquid-permeating member provided with a number of through holes, said roller being provided with a means for applying a tension to said external layer in the axial direction of said roller.
