Abstract: Processes for oxidative dehydrogenation of alkane to one or more olefins, exemplified by ethane to ethylene, are disclosed using novel catalysts. The catalysts comprise a mixture of metal oxides having as an important component nickel oxide (NiO), which give high conversion and selectivity in the process. For example, the catalyst can be used to make ethylene by contacting it with a gas mixture containing ethane and oxygen. The gas mixture may optionally contain ethylene, an inert diluent such as nitrogen, or both ethylene and an inert diluent.

Abstract: A cooling system for an OHC type four-stroke cycle internal combustion engine having a valve chamber lubricated by oil mist. The system includes an accommodating space accommodating a transmission mechanism, a blower fan rotatably driven by a crankshaft, and a cooling air channel extending between a combustion chamber and the valve chamber disposed above the combustion chamber. The cooling air channel includes a primary air channel formed between intake and exhaust ports and extends toward a spark plug located on the downstream side of the cooling air channel. The cooling air channel also includes an air guide channel for guiding the air to an upstream inlet of the primary air channel and is defined by a wall which faces the upstream inlet of the primary air channel and extends laterally. The wall extends vertically in the accommodating space and is formed with an oil mist passage extending vertically therein.

Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide an improved lubricating method and device for the internal combustion engine, which allows the engine to be lubricated by taking advantage of engine vibration without using other power source. The lubricating device includes a crankcase separated into a crank chamber and an oil reservoir by a partition wall. The partition wall has an opening provided with a wire net for covering the opening. A coil spring is suspended within the oil reservoir so as to form a U-shape. During operation, an engine vibration induces a vibration of the coil spring, and the oscillating coil spring agitates and/or splashes up an engine oil contained in the oil reservoir, and whereby an entire oil surface is ruffled. The engine oil introduced into the crank chamber impinges on a crankshaft and finer droplets or oil mist is formed to thereby lubricate the crankshaft and other engine components.
