The method includes: measuring a value of one of (a) a time until current in the coil drops to a predetermined lower value after a switching of the current flowing through the coil, (b) a voltage at the coil subsequent to the switching of the current to the coil, (c) the voltage at the coil at a time of maximum approach of the armature to the pole face, and (d) the voltage at the coil at a time subsequent to the time of maximum approach of the armature to the pole face; comparing the measured value to a predetermined value; and generating a signal if a deviation is detected between the measured value and the predetermined value.

    摘要: An adjustment device for a cam-controlled valve operation in a piston-type internal combustion engine includes a camshaft adapted for actuating intake or exhaust valves of the piston-type internal combustion engine. The camshaft has a camshaft axis and includes an end having a guide surface. A transmission element constituting a magnetic armature is arranged for being moved back and forth in a direction of the camshaft axis. The transmission element includes an inner guide element opposite from and corresponding to the guide surface and a carrier element at a radial distance from the inner guide element that meshes with a corresponding carrier surface on a drive wheel, and is positioned for being twisted coaxially and relative to the camshaft. At least one of the guide surface on the camshaft and the carrier surface on the drive wheel is aligned in a helical shape relative to the camshaft axis. A stationary, switchable magnet has a pole surface facing the transmission element and presents a magnetic force that attracts the transmission element toward the pole surface when the magnet is switched on. A restoring mechanism is arranged along the camshaft and presents a force urging the transmission element away from the pole surface. A limit stop is disposed on the camshaft for holding the transmission element at a short distance from the pole surface of the magnet and counter to the force of the restoring means when the magnet is switched on.

The valve has open and closed positions and is operated by an electromagnetic actuator which includes an opening electromagnet, a closing electromagnet, an armature movable between pole faces by electromagnetic forces against a spring force of a return spring arrangement for moving the valve into an open position. The valve play is defined by a clearance between the armature and the valve when the armature is in contact with the pole face of the closing magnet and the valve is in the closed position. The method includes the steps of detecting a motion of the armature within the clearance as a function of the course of voltage and/or current in the closing electromagnet; and deriving the size of the valve play from an irregularity (spike) in the course of voltage and/or current. The irregularity is caused by an impacting of the armature on the valve and/or the pole face of the closing electromagnet.

    摘要: A four-stroke Otto engine. At least two intake valves of the engine have an open position and a closed position, and include a main intake valve and an additional intake valve. A camshaft moves the main intake valve into its open position and into its closed position, and a transmission element transmits a motion of the camshaft to the main intake valve. The transmission element includes a cutoff apparatus actuatable independently of the camshaft for cutting off a transmission of the actuation of the camshaft to the main intake valve for keeping the main intake valve in its closed position in a lower partial load and rpm range of the engine. An operating apparatus connected to the additional intake valve actuates the additional intake valve independently of the actuation of the main intake valve for moving the additional intake valve into its open position in a lower partial load and rpm range of the engine and into its closed position in an upper partial load and rpm range of the engine. The operating apparatus further adjusts at least one of a valve stroke of the additional intake valve, a valve opening time of the additional intake valve and a valve closing time of the additional intake valve as a function of engine load. An intake control device controls the cutoff apparatus and the operating apparatus.

    摘要: A spark-ignition reciprocating piston engine has at least one piston cylinder, at least one inlet port arranged at an end of the cylinder, an inlet valve located at the inlet port and that is movable to open and close the inlet port, and an inlet conduit leading to the inlet port for feeding a fluid from a fuel feed to an inlet area of the inlet port. The engine includes a partition arranged within the inlet conduit which divides the inlet conduit into at least two partial conduits over at least a portion of a length of the inlet conduit between the fuel feed and the inlet area. At least one of the partial conduits is connected to the fuel feed. The partial conduits converge directly in front of the inlet port to form the inlet area. The partition is located within a plane that extends essentially transversely to an axis of the cylinder at least in the inlet area. The partition has an end edge facing the inlet area, and has at least one portion that is movable to deflect a flow of the fluid on blow-by from the inlet conduit, through the inlet port, and into the cylinder. A controllable actuation arrangement is connected to the portion for changing a distance from the end edge to the inlet port.
