摘要: Optical assembly includes a light source adjacent a light input edge and generally parallel and planar first and second surfaces each comprising respective patterns of well defined optical elements that are quite small in relation to the length and width of the optical assembly. At least some of the optical elements of each pattern include a respective sloped surface for directing at least some light emitted from the light source. The respective slope angle of the sloped surface of at least some of the optical elements of one of the patterns is different from the respective slope angle of the sloped surface of at least some of the optical elements of the other pattern such that more of the light is emitted from one of the surfaces than is emitted from the other surface.

摘要: A phototherapy system and device is disclosed, including an array of light sources from at least two distinct spectral light regions. The first spectral light region represents the treatment color, and thus is chosen for its phototherapeutic value. For instance, blue light may be the treatment color for hyperbilirubinemia. The second spectral light region represents the balancing color, and is chosen for its ability to mitigate discomfort that may be caused by viewing the treatment color. When blue is the treatment color, yellow has been found to be an effective balancing color.

The tray or housing acts as an end edge and/or side edge reflector for the panel member to reflect light that would otherwise exit the panel member through the end edge and/or side edge back into the panel member for causing additional light to be emitted from the panel member.

摘要: A non-intrusive physiological data measurement system and method, as well as an optically induced treatment system, are described. The measurement system includes a monitoring mechanism that includes light emitter modules capable of emitting light at at least two wavelengths. The light emitted from the light emitter modules is transmitted through a subject and to a light receiving mechanism, such as an optical sensor. Physiological data is taken from the received light. The system also can ascertain movement of the subject by obtaining an initial outline of the subject and comparing that outline with a subsequently obtained outline. A therapeutic optic system includes a non-adhering light emitting mechanism for providing light at therapeutic wavelengths.

摘要: An infant warming apparatus for supporting an infant upon an infant platform. The apparatus has a procedure light that is recessed into the normal horizontal overhead housing of the apparatus and thus integrated into the infant apparatus. The procedure light is conveniently located above and centrally positioned with respect to the infant so as to direct the light toward the infant. The mounting provides omnidirectional movement of the procedure light and the movement can be easily controlled by means of a control handle that extends downwardly with a distal end readily accessible to the caregiver. At or proximate to the distal end there is an electrical controller to enable the caregiver to change the intensity of the light beam. The light beam can also be easily focused so as to allow the caregiver to direct the desired beam of light onto the area of interest of the infant.
