Abstract:
A strand (20) for a cable bolt (14) comprises a plurality of metallic elongated members (22, 24) twisted together. At least one of the elongated members has a corrosion resistant coating (54) and surface deformation, so as to improve the bodig efficiency and the anchorage of the strand.
Abstract:
A steel cord for reinforcing a breaker or belt ply in a rubber tire having a core group and a sheath group. The core group consists of two to four core steel filaments with a first diameter dc and the sheath group consists of one to six sheath steel filaments with a second diameter ds. The ratio dc/ds of the first diameter dc to the second diameter ds ranges from 1.10 to 1.70. The two core steel filaments are untwisted or have a twisting step greater than 300 mm. The sheath group is twisted around the core group with a cord twisting step in a cord twisting direction. The ratio of the difference in residual torsions of the core group and the sheath group to the difference in saturation level between the core group and the sheath group ranges from 0.10 to 0.65, preferably from 0.10 to 0.60.
Abstract:
The steel wire of diameter d expressed in mm has a completely ferritic, pearlitic or ferritic-pearlitic microstructure and a weight content of carbon C such that 0.05%≦C

Abstract:
Metal cord of K×(L+M) construction. K elementary strands assembled in a helix, with pitch PK, each having a cord with L wire inner layer of diameter d1, and M wire outer layer of diameter d2, in a helix with pitch p2 around the inner layer; with (in mm): 0.10
Abstract:
A steel rope safety system includes at least one steel rope having at least one strand, and the at least one rope or at least one strand is compacted. Further, a method is provided for making a steel rope safety system comprising the step of providing at least two wires, the step of stranding the wires thereby forming a strand for a rope and the step of compacting the strand. The steel rope safety system includes a guardrail system having vertical poles and horizontal compacted ropes which are held in place by hooks. The steel rope safety system may include non-round shaped, such as trapezoidal shaped compacted wires. There is likewise provided the use of compacted steel ropes as impact reducing material.
Abstract:
Rubber-cord complex 9 having improved wet heat adhesive property between rubber and cord. The rubber-cord complex includes cord 10 comprising drawn plated wire 17 prepared by providing brass plated layer 16E on surface of element wire 15 and drawing the resulting plated wire and rubber 12 vulcanized and bonded to cord 10. The rubber-cord complex 9 has adhesion reaction layer 25 (formed by cross-linking sulfur and copper) between rubber 12 and brass plated layer 16E. Adhesion reaction layer 25 has average thickness of 50-1,000 nm. Interface S between adhesion reaction layer 25 and the rubber has a fractal dimension of 1.001-1.300 in a wet heat deterioration state after being subjected to vulcanization to bond rubber 12 thereto and being held at a temperature of 50-100° C. and a humidity of 60-100% for one hour to 20 days.
