摘要: Disclosed herein is a method of fabricating a catalyzed porous electrode for fuel cell, which electrode can be fabricated in a simple and easy manner without forming a catalyst support layer of carbon particles, and has an excellent, stable catalytic efficiency. The method comprises treating an electrically conductive, porous carbon substrate with an oxidizing agent; making one face of the porous carbon substrate in contact with an electrodeposition solution As containing ions of a catalytic metal; applying a pulsed potential to the electrodeposition solution to deposit the catalytic metal on the porous substrate, thereby catalyzing the porous substrate; and heat-treating the catalyzed porous substrate.

摘要: A method of manufacturing an electrode for an electrochemical fuel cell is disclosed, comprising providing a sheet of compressed mass of expanded graphite particles having a plurality of perforations defined by walls of the expanded graphite particles, and the perforations passing through the sheet between first and second opposed surfaces of the sheet; coating the sheet with a thermosettable organic resin, said coating step compring filling a portion of said perforations with the thermosettable organic resin; curing and baking the sheet, and reopening a portion of the filled perforations during the curing and baking step; activating the thermosettable organic resin to form a high surface area carbon on the walls of the perforations; and loading a catalyst onto the high surface area carbon.

摘要: A PROCESS WHEREBY A CATALYTICALLY-ACTIVE METAL MAY BE APPLIED TO A POROUS SUBSTRATE IN THE PREPARATION OF A FUEL CELL ELECTRODE WHEREIN THE CATALYTICALLY-ACTIVE METAL IS APPLIED AS AN AQUEOUS LIQUID AND IT IS DESIRED TO EXCLUDE THE CATALYTICALLY-ACTIVE METAL FROM PORES HAVING RADII SMALLER THAN A PREDETERMINED MINIMUM. PARTICULARLY, THE PROCESS COMPRISES BLOCKING THE SMALLER PORES WITH A WATER-IM MISCIBLE LIQUID HAVING A BOILING PONIT ABOVE THAT OF WATER PRIOR TO THE TREATING OF THE SUBSTRATE WHEREBY THE BLOCKING IS ACCOMPLISHED BY CONTACTING THE POROUS SUBSTRATE WITH THE WATER-IMMISCIBLE LIQUID, AND THEN EVAPORATING THE WATER-IMMISCIBLE LIQUID FROM SUBSTRATE PORES HAVING RADII LARGER THAN THE PREDETERMINED MINIMUM. 摘要: A catalyst for fuel cells and a method of manufacturing the catalyst are disclosed. The catalyst forms shells in a dense structure so as to prevent elution of a transition metal and increases dispersibility through hydrophilization of the surface of the catalyst so as to be uniformly dispersed when an ink for forming a fuel cell electrode is manufactured. The catalyst may thus increase the performance and durability of a fuel cell.

摘要: A gas diffusion layer for proton exchange membrane fuel cell and preparation method thereof are provided. The preparation method is to papermake and dry carbon fiber suspension mainly composed of a fibrous binder, water, a dispersant and carbon fibers with different aspect ratios to obtain a carbon fiber base paper, and then carbonize and graphitize under the protection of nitrogen or inert gas to obtain a gas diffusion layer for proton exchange membrane fuel cell; where the fibrous binder is a composite fiber or a blend fiber composed of a phenolic resin and other resin; where the prepared gas diffusion layer for proton exchange membrane fuel cell has a pore gradient, and the layer with the smallest pore size is an intrinsic microporous layer.

摘要: Disclosed is a fuel cell with enhanced mass transfer characteristics in which a highly hydrophobic porous medium, which is prepared by forming a micro-nano dual structure in which nanometer-scale protrusions with a high aspect ratio are formed on the surface of a porous medium with a micrometer-scale roughness by plasma etching and then by depositing a hydrophobic thin film thereon, is used as a gas diffusion layer, thereby increasing hydrophobicity due to the micro-nano dual structure and the hydrophobic thin film. When this highly hydrophobic porous medium is used as a gas diffusion layer for a fuel cell, it is possible to reduce water flooding by efficiently discharging water produced by an electrochemical reaction of the fuel cell and to improve the performance of the fuel cell by facilitating the supply of reactant gases such as hydrogen and air (oxygen) to a membrane-electrode assembly (MEA).
