摘要: A method of treating a cataractous lens of a patient's eye includes generating a light beam, deflecting the light beam using a scanner to form a treatment pattern, delivering the treatment pattern to the lens of the patient's eye to create a plurality of cuts in the form two or more different incisions patterns within the lens to segment the lens tissue into a plurality of patterned pieces, and mechanically breaking the lens into a plurality of pieces along the cuts. A first incision pattern includes two or more crossing cut incision planes. A second incision pattern includes a plurality of laser incision each extending along a first length between a posterior and an anterior surface of the lens capsule.

摘要: An apparatus and method are disclosed for providing control data for a laser of a treatment apparatus for the correction of a cornea. The method includes determining a look-up table for preset corneal parameters by a corneal deformation model, wherein the cornea can be modeled in deformed and non-deformed states by the corneal deformation model. A value of at least one preset corneal parameter in the non-deformed state of the cornea is varied and an effect of this variation on values of the corneal parameters in the deformed state of the cornea is ascertained for determining the look-up table. The method further includes ascertaining a corneal value to be achieved from predetermined examination data, determining by the look-up table a deformation-corrected corneal value to be achieved for compensating for the deformation of the cornea, and providing control data, which uses the deformation-corrected corneal value for correcting the cornea.

摘要: A method for providing control data for an eye surgical laser of a treatment apparatus for removing tissue is disclosed. The method includes utilizing a control device for determining a corneal geometry and an ocular wavefront of a human or animal eye from predetermined examination data. A corneal wavefront is then determined from the corneal geometry using a physical model, and an internal wavefront is calculated from a difference between the ocular wavefront and the corneal wavefront. A wavefront to be achieved is calculated from a difference of a preset target wavefront and the calculated internal wavefront. A target corneal geometry is determined from the wavefront to be achieved by the physical model, and a tissue geometry to be removed is calculated from a difference of the corneal geometry and the target corneal geometry, and control data for controlling the eye surgical laser is provided.

摘要: An exemplary surgical device includes an element positionable within a shaft having a lumen defined therethrough with the element movable from a stored position to a deployed position in which a larger portion of the element extends out of the distal end of the lumen. The element forming a closed loop which is positioned around the lens while the lens is within a capsular bag. The closed loop is reduced in size to form a cut in the lens.

摘要: A method for modifying a refractive property of ocular tissue in an eye by creating at least one optically-modified gradient index (GRIN) layer in the corneal stroma and/or the crystalline by continuously scanning a continuous stream of laser pulses having a focal volume from a laser having a known average power along a continuous line having a smoothly changing refractive index within the tissue, and varying either or both of the scan speed and the laser average power during the scan. The method may further involve determining a desired vision correction adjustment, and determining a position, number, and design parameters of gradient index (GRIN) layers to be created within the ocular tissue to provide the desired vision correction.

摘要: A system for treating an eye includes a laser light source providing photoactivating light. The system includes a scanning system to receive the photoactivating light as a laser beam and to move the laser beam over a cornea treated with a cross-linking agent. The system includes a controller that provides control signal(s) to programmatically control the laser light source and the scanning system. The control signal(s) cause the laser beam to visit region(s) of the cornea more than once according to a scan pattern and expose the region(s) to the photoactivating light. The photoactivating light causes the cross-linking agent in the exposed region(s) to react with oxygen to generate cross-linking activity in the exposed region(s). The scan pattern causes a predetermined period of time to pass between visits by the laser beam to the exposed region(s), the predetermined period of time allowing oxygen in the exposed region(s) to replenish.
