Abstract: A method of depositing silicon carbide on a preform to form a ceramic matrix composite comprises placing the preform into a reaction vessel, removing air from the reaction vessel and backfilling the reaction vessel with an inert gas to an operating pressure. The reaction vessel and the preform are heated to an operating temperature. A carrier gas and precursor materials are heated to a preheat temperature outside of the reaction vessel. The carrier gas and the precursor materials are introduced to the reaction vessel in a specified ratio. Off gasses, the precursor materials that are unspent, and the carrier gas are removed from the reaction vessel to maintain the specified ratio of the precursor materials in the reaction vessel.

Abstract: This charger 1 is provided with: a battery housing unit 2 including a first contact T1 and a second contact T2 which touch the respective electrode terminals of a battery BAT to be housed therein; a high-potential power supply line 3 and a low-potential power supply line 4 to which power for charging the battery BAT is supplied; a connection switching circuit 5 capable of switching between a first connection state in which the first contact T1 is connected to the high-potential power supply line 3 and the second contact T2 is connected to the low-potential power supply line 4 and a second connection state in which the second contact T2 is connected to the high-potential power supply line 3 and the first contact T1 is connected to the low-potential power supply line 4; and a control device 7 for controlling the connection switching circuit 5 to perform charging control on the battery BAT. The control device 7 performs preliminary charging on the battery BAT in the first connection state and, when a battery voltage VB does not exceed a set voltage VS, switches the connection state to the second connection state and performs preliminary and normal charging on the battery BAT.

Abstract: A pump rod has a head extending from a neck, and the head is received within a drive slot of a drive link. The head includes a projection, and has an area smaller than an area of the head. The projection contacts an inner surface of the drive slot. The drive link may include a projection aligned with a centerline of the drive link. The drive link projection contacts a head of the pump rod. The projections provide a reduced contact area between the pump rod and the drive link, thereby reducing any side-loading on the pump rod and increasing a lifespan of the wear parts.

Abstract: A method of decoding an enhanced video stream composed of base layer video access units and enhancement layer video access units, each access unit comprising a plurality of syntax structures, includes passing the syntax structures of the base layer access units to a base layer buffer, passing syntax structures of the enhancement layer access units to an enhancement layer buffer, outputting the syntax structures passed to the base layer buffer in a predetermined sequence, outputting the syntax structures passed to the enhancement layer buffer in a predetermined sequence, and recombining the sequences of syntax structures output by the base layer buffer and the enhancement layer buffer respectively to form a complete enhanced access unit, composed of base layer syntax structures and enhancement layer syntax structures in a predetermined sequence.
