    摘要: A virtual conferencing system is described which provides discussion support services such as during a debate between virtual conference participants. For example, one embodiment of virtual conferencing system comprises: a plurality of clients operated by participants and at least one moderator of a virtual conference, each of the clients comprising state management logic to maintain a current state of the virtual conference; a virtual conferencing service to establish audio and/or video connections between the plurality of clients during the virtual conference, the virtual conferencing service further including a state synchronization service communicatively coupled to the state management logic on each client to ensure that the current state of the virtual conference is consistent on each client; a virtual conferencing graphical user interface (GUI) to be rendered on the plurality of clients, the virtual conferencing GUI configured, via signals sent from the state synchronization service, to display a video stream of one or more current speakers during the virtual conference utilizing the established video connections; and a discussion support module to implement a discussion between two or more selected participants in the virtual conference by generating a discussion configuration including data structures and GUI features required to implement the discussion in response to a set of discussion parameters specified by the virtual conferencing moderator, wherein the discussion configuration implemented by the discussion support module are synchronized to clients through the state synchronization service.

    摘要: A method and system provides for path maximum transmission unit (PMTU) discovery (PMTUD) for a multicast distribution implemented in a network using bit indexed explicit replication (BIER) architecture. The network has a set of bit forwarding routers (BFRs) that form a BIER domain including at least one ingress BFR (BFIR) and a set of egress BFRs (BFERs). The method improves efficiency of the PMTUD by limiting probe packet traffic. The method includes selecting a BFER from the set of BFERs in the BIER domain to be processed, generating a probe packet to the selected BFER using a current MTU, sending the probe packet to the selected BFER, and updating the current MTU and adding BFERs identified by a response to the probe packet to the set of BFERs in the BIER domain to be processed.

For example, one embodiment of an apparatus comprises: a package; an uncore die mounted on the package, the uncore die comprising a plurality of exposed landing slots, each landing slot including an inter-die interface usable to connect vertically to a cores die, the uncore die including a plurality of uncore components usable by cores within the cores die including a memory controller component, a level 3 (L3) cache, a system memory or system memory interface, and a core interconnect fabric or bus; and a first cores die comprising a first plurality of cores, the cores spaced on the first cores die to correspond to all or a first subset of the landing slots on the uncore die, each of the cores having an inter-die interface positioned to be communicatively coupled to a corresponding inter-die interface within a landing slot on the uncore die when the first cores die is vertically coupled on top of the uncore die, wherein the communicative coupling between the inter-die interface of a core and the inter-die interface of its corresponding landing slot communicatively couples the core to the uncore components of the uncore die.
