A service providing method in a satellite communication system includes: confirming positions of terminals when the terminals existing within a service area and intended to receive a service is connected to a satellite base station or a complementary terrestrial component; confirming first terminals, which communicate with the satellite base station, and second terminals, which communicate with the complementary terrestrial component, according to the positions of the terminals; allocating resources usable when communicating with the first terminals and resources usable when communicating with the second terminals; and providing a service to the terminals by using the allocated resources through multi-beams of the satellite base station and multi-beams of the complementary terrestrial component.

Provided is a satellite network communication system based on Second Generation Digital Video Broad-casting via Satellite (DVB-S2). A method for encapsulating transmission data in a digital satellite communication system includes: determining whether a time at which a reference time information packet has to be inserted into a packet data unit is arrived, in the digital satellite communication system; and if the time at which the reference time information packet has to be inserted into the packet data unit is arrived, transforming the packet data unit in the form of a baseband data packet including the reference time information packet. Therefore, by allowing transmission of Network Clock Reference (NCR) information in a satellite communication environment based on Generic Steam Encapsulation (GSE), bidirectional satellite communications are possible.

A method of reconstructing reference time information of a transmission frame in a digital satellite communication system is provided, including: receiving the transmission frame including reference time information; recording receiving time of start of frames of the plurality of physical layer frames included in the transmission frame; determining receiving time of a start of frame corresponding to the physical layer frames including the reference time information based on the recorded information when the physical layer frame including the reference time information is received; and reconstructing the reference time information based on the determined receiving time information of the start of frame. Network synchronization is stably acquired and maintained during two-way communication even in the satellite communication network environment.

In a semiconductor device package having a stress relief spacer, and a manufacturing method thereof, metal interconnect fingers extend from the body of a chip provide for chip interconnection. The metal fingers are isolated from the body of the chip by a stress-relief spacer. In one example, such isolation takes the form of an air gap. In another example, such isolation takes the form of an elastomer material. In either case, mismatch in coefficient of thermal expansion between the metal interconnect fingers and the body of the chip is avoided, alleviating the problems associated with cracking and delamination, and leading to improved device yield and device reliability.

An image data encoding/decoding apparatus and method using sampling is provided. The image data encoding apparatus may compress image data, pre-processed for each block, after sampling or without sampling, and select a more efficient compression mode from results of the compressing. The image data decoding apparatus may determine a decompression mode corresponding to the selected compression mode, and up-sample the image data after decompressing the image data based on a decompression mode, or decompress the image data without sampling, to provide high definition regardless of a type of image data.

Provided are an image signal processing apparatus and method. According to the image signal processing method, by simultaneously performing in an integrated manner image denoising and interpolation using 4-directional image gradient information which defines differences in color brightness between adjacent pixels on the basis of edge direction information obtained from a bayer image output from an image sensor, it is possible to improve picture quality and processing speed.

The present invention relates to a communication method in a mobile communication system. An exemplary embodiment of the present invention provides a mobile satellite communication system having a complementary terrestrial component among various mobile communication systems. The mobile satellite communication system can simultaneously provide a communication service and a broadcasting service to a terminal according to integration between communication and broadcasting. Different signal transmission methods are used between the complementary terrestrial component and a satellite. Specifically, a time division duplex method and a frequency division duplex method are used together and resources are allocated. As a result, system throughput can be increased, and local broadcasting contents can be effectively transmitted to the terminal.

A chip stack package includes a substrate, a plurality of chips, a plurality of adhesive layers and a plug. The substrate has a wiring pattern and a seed layer formed on the wiring pattern. Each of the chips has an electrode pad and a first through-hole that penetrates the electrode pad. The chips are stacked such that the first through-holes are aligned on the seed layer of the substrate. The adhesive layers are interposed between the substrate and one of the chips, as well as between the chips. Each of the adhesive layers has a second through-hole connected to the first through-hole. The plug fills up the first through-holes and the second through-holes and electrically connects the electrode pads to the wiring pattern of the substrate. A cross-sectional area of the plug in the second through-holes may be larger than that of the plug in the first through-holes.

Provided are an apparatus for estimating an increment in the number of packets arriving at a transmission queue of each terminal and allocating resources to terminals based on the increment in a Demand Assignment Multiple Access (DAMA) satellite communication system, and a method thereof. The method, includes the steps of: a) comparing a summation of requested time slot quantities of terminals with a total number of available time slots; and b) allocating the time slots as much as the requested time slot quantity to each terminal and allocating remaining time slots additionally in proportion to an estimated increase in the number of packets arriving at a transmission queue of each terminal. The apparatus can raise efficiency of resources allocation in DAMA communications and reduce the packet transmission time in a terminal transmission queue.
