Abstract: A method of depositing a polymer film onto a semiconductor wafer is provided which includes the steps of connecting the wafer to one terminal of a voltage source, connecting an electrode to an other pole of the voltage source and placing the electrode and substrate in superposed orientation to form a parallel plate capacitor, wherein an electric field is produced between the electrode and substrate. The parallel plate capacitor is placed in a chamber where pressure andc temperature are maintained at predetermined levels and gaseous monomers of the desired film to be polymerized are introduced into the chamber. The gaseous monomers are then permitted to flow between the electrode and wafer while the voltage of the electric field is maintained at a level sufficient to polarize the monomers without breaking their chemical bonds wherein the polarized monomers react to form a polymer film on the wafer at an enhanced rate.

Abstract: A holder structure for a control cord of a curtain for quickly fixing the seamless control cord or a bead chain. The holder is composed of a base seat, an outer cover and elastic members and fixed on a wall face or a floor by fixing members. The base seat and the outer cover are respectively formed with two perforations. Each perforation has a cord passage formed on the same axis. The holder structure is characterized in that a thin connection block is formed at an inner end of the cord slit of the base seat to block the cord slit. When holding the control cord, with respect to a bead chain with a connector, the thin connection block keeps blocking the cord slit. With respect to a seamless control cord, the thin connection block is cut apart to unblock the cord slit for holding the seamless control cord.

Abstract: The present invention relates a numerical method to simulate the incompressible wing-tip vortex flows. This method is called Vorticity-Refinement, which refines the added vorticity as two different forms of force multiplied by two different factors to counteract the numerical diffusions in the numerical solutions by utilizing the high-order spatial discretization and improving the stability and convergence of the governing equations for incompressible flows.

Abstract: The present invention relates to use of a fermented soy extract as a prebiotic composition to protect beneficial bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract of an animal. Particularly, the fermented soy extract of the invention exhibits the prebiotic activity even under an antibiotic treatment. Also disclosed is combined use of an antibiotic and the fermented soy extract of the invention, which has advantages over administration of the antibiotic alone, such as decreasing the effective dose of the antibiotic and/or reducing side effects resulting from the antibiotic treatment.

Abstract: A drainage device for draining liquid out of a closed chamber includes a main body, a piston assembly, and a transmission assembly. The main body defines a receiving chamber and a liquid inlet communicating with the receiving chamber to the closed chamber. The piston assembly is fixed in the receiving chamber of the main body. The transmission assembly is partially received in the receiving chamber. The transmission assembly and the piston assembly cooperatively separate the receiving chamber to a first chamber adjacent to the liquid inlet and a second chamber away from the liquid inlet. The transmission assembly is slidably received in the receiving chamber, thereby causing air pressure differences between the first chamber and the second chamber, to pump the liquid from the closed chamber to the second chamber. The main body further defines a plurality of discharge holes for draining liquid out of the second chamber.
