The present invention provides a thin container production method capable of forming a thin container having a thickness of about 0.7 mm by injecting a molten resin of a polylactic acid into a narrow cavity. The production method according to the present invention produces a thin container W having a thickness in a range of 0.3 to 0.7 mm by injection molding of a polylactic acid resin. The molten resin of the polylactic acid impregnated with supercritical carbon dioxide in a range of 0.5 to 2.5 percent by mass relative to the total amount is injected into a cavity 29 corresponding to the thin container W.

A molded article having heat resistance, heat retaining properties, and biodegradability, and a method for production of the molded article are provided. A mug 1 as a molded article is an injection-molded article formed by injection molding a resin composition containing a polylactic acid and fine particles having an average particle size of 1 to 150 nm and prepared by impregnating the polylactic acid and the fine particles with supercritical nitrogen in the range of 0.05 to 0.3% by weight based on the whole amount of the resin composition. The injection-molded article comprises a foam layer 4 of discontinuous cells inside thereof and a non-foam layer 5 formed integrally with the foam layer 4 on the surfaces thereof. The foam layer 4 includes discontinuous cells having an average pore size of 0.5 to 50 μm. The non-foam layer 5 has a degree of crystallinity of 15 to 28%.

Provided is a process for the production of heat-resistant hollow articles that does not cause the deformation of injection-molded products or the incapability of the same being taken out of a mold. A mold 1 that comprises a female mold portion 3 having a concavity 2, a male mold portion 5 having a convexity 4, and a stripper plate 7 having an edge-forming part 6, is heated so that the temperature of a surface facing a cavity 8, which is enclosed by the concavity, convexity, and edge-forming part becomes the crystallization temperature of a polylactic acid containing resin, and the polylactic acid containing resin is injected via a gate 9. The temperature of the polylactic acid containing resin injected into the cavity 8 is measured by use of an infrared sensor 12, and when the polylactic acid containing resin is a temperature in the range between the temperature T1 at which heat resistance exhibits itself and the temperature T2 at which the bowl A cannot be released from the mold, the male mold portion 5 and the stripper plate 7 are moved in the direction in which the male mold portion 5 and the stripper plate 7 are spaced from the female mold portion 3. Mold release is performed by introducing gas into between the inner surface of the hollow article A and the convexity 4 of the male mold portion 5. The hollow article A is taken out of the mold 1 by advancing the stripper plate 7 in the direction of the hollow article A.

The inorganic particles as a dental material includes silica with the content in the range from 70 to 98 weight % and oxide(s) of one or more elements selected from the group of Zr, Ti, La, Ba, Sr, Hf, Y, Zn, AL, and B, wherein 5 to 70 weight % of the silica is originated from an acidic silicic acid solution and 30 to 95 weight % of the silica is originated from a sol of silica. The inorganic particles as a dental material have an average particle diameter in the range from 1 to 10 μm, specific surface area in the range from 50 to 350 m2/g, pore volume in the range from 0.05 to 0.5 ml/g, amorphous crystallinity as observed by x-ray diffraction, and the refractive index in the range from 1.47 to 1.60.

A process for production of a heat-resistant hollow article made of a polylactic acid containing resin by using a mold which includes a female mold portion having a concavity, a male mold portion having a convexity and a stripper plate having an edge-forming part. The surface of the mold facing the cavity is heated to a temperature corresponding to a crystallization temperature of the polylactic acid containing resin. The male mold portion and the stripper plate are moved away from the female mold portion when a temperature T(° C.) of the resin detected by an infrared temperature sensor is in the range of T=(t+3.5)±1.5 (t(° C.) is the surface temperature of the mold). Gas is introduced between an inner surface of the hollow article and the male mold portion, and the hollow article is taken out of the mold by advancing the stripper plate toward the hollow article.
