Thus, the shrinking of a resist and/or the effect of electrostatic charge caused when a sample is irradiated with an electron beam are eliminated, so that the shape contour of a two-dimensional pattern before irradiating an electron beam can be restored with a high degree of accuracy, and the dimension of a pattern can be measured with a high degree of accuracy, using the restored image.

Subsequently, a generation part generates a pseudo sound signal of a waveform pattern corresponding to a combination of AR and ER. On the other hand, a level control part calculates a level designation value LVC based on the derived rotating speed information. The level control part reduces the pseudo sound signal level at a change rate to decrease discomfortness for the passengers in the vehicle, if ER continuously changes in a predetermined range for a predetermined time period during the calculation of LVC. As a result, pseudo sound that does not impart any discomfort sense to the passengers in the passenger compartment is generated.
