摘要: An endoluminal prosthesis includes a support structure including a curvilinear portion having a first strut and a second strut that meet at an apex. Disposed on the support structure is an anchor with an anchor body and one or more barbs extending outwardly from the anchor body. The anchor body can fit at least partially about, and can conform to the first strut, second strut, and the apex. A curved portion of the anchor and the curvilinear portion of the support structure can be co-formed, resulting in a secure interference fit so that welding, soldering, or other joining mechanisms can be avoided. Cutouts can be formed along the curved portion of the anchor to relieve stress or strain during the co-forming process.

摘要: A strut, or beam, is provided for intraluminal devices. Strain which is introduced into a stent or other intraluminal device is distributed more evenly along the length of the improved strut by maintaining a substantially constant strain level along the length of an end portion. This may increase fatigue life or improve the performance of devices using the improved strut. The strain along the length of the end portion may be maintained substantially constant by varying a section property of the strut, including the width, thickness, cross-sectional area, material property or other characteristic of the end portion.

摘要: The present embodiments provide stents and stent-grafts for use in medical procedures. In one embodiment, a stent comprises a series of proximal apices, a series of distal apices, and at least one imaging element. A distal region of the stent, including the series of distal apices and a first suture bore, overlaps with the graft material, while a proximal region of the stent, including the series of proximal apices and at least one barb, is disposed proximally beyond the graft material. In an alternative embodiment, a stent-graft comprises a graft, a first stent and a second stent, in which a series of proximal apices of the first stent are each disposed distal to the proximal end of the graft, and a series of proximal apices of the second stent are each disposed proximally beyond the proximal end of the graft.

摘要: A curve forming stent graft for curved vessels such as the thoracic arch. The stent graft has a tubular body zig zag self expanding stents fastened to and supporting the tubular body. The zig zag self expanding stents comprising struts and points between adjacent struts thereby defining proximal end points and distal end points. A temporary diameter constriction arrangement associated with the least some of the plurality of zig zag self expanding stents comprises a pair of adjacent distal end points being releasably retained adjacent each other whereby at rest the tubular body of the stent graft is in a substantially sawtooth form and when released in a curved configuration a distal end point of a stent overlaps a proximal end point of a distally adjacent stent to facilitate curvature of the stent graft in a curved vessel.

摘要: The present invention provides apparatus and methods for deployment of a modular stent-graft system. In one embodiment, a prosthesis comprises a first tubular graft comprising a layer of graft material, at least one lumen extending longitudinally therein, and a first fenestration extending through the layer of graft material. A layer of fenestration covering material attaches to the layer of graft material. The layer of fenestration covering material is disposed in the lumen of the first tubular graft and partitions the first fenestration from the lumen of the first tubular graft. A first non-stented opening is disposed proximal to the first fenestration and communicates with the first fenestration between the layer of graft material and the fenestration covering material. In use, a proximal end of a second tubular graft sealably engages the first non-stented opening, and the second tubular graft further extends through the first fenestration and into a branch vessel.

摘要: A filter device for capturing thrombi in a body vessel and transformable to a stent to maintain the blood vessel open is disclosed. The filter comprises a plurality of longitudinal struts comprising proximal and distal portions. Each proximal portion has a first end. The first ends are attached together along a longitudinal axis. Each distal portion extends from the proximal portion to an anchoring hook. The distal portions of the longitudinal struts are configured to expand in the body vessel. The device comprises a biodegradable member attached to the device for maintaining the first ends attached together in a closed position. The biodegradable member is comprised of bio-absorbable material so that the biodegradable member degrades at a predetermined time period after the filter is deployed in the body vessel allowing the first ends to radially expand to an open position defining the stent.
