Abstract: A method for wireless communication is disclosed. A first attach access point name candidate is selected from an attach access point name list. A long term evolution attach is performed using the selected attach access point name. It is determined whether the long term evolution attach succeeds. A next attach access point name candidate is selected from the attach access point name list if the long term evolution attach using the first attach access point name candidate fails and causes a change of attach access point name.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to systems and methods for configuring a voice domain preference and/or a radio access technology (RAT) preference for a user equipment (UE) in a radio access network (RAN) according to the capability and compatibility of the UE. The UE may send at least one of a requested voice domain preference or a requested RAT preference to a 5G core network (5GC). The UE may also receive, from the 5GC, at least one of a voice domain preference or a RAT preference based on, for example, the capability and compatibility of the UE. The 5GC may additionally generate a RAT/frequency selection priority (RFSP) index for the UE, giving priority to the voice domain preference and/or the RAT preference of the UE. The 5GC may communicate the RFSP index to the RAN. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure describe transmitting data in wireless communications. A set of packets for transmission in a defined sequence can be received where the set of packets includes two or more packets. It can be detected that a packet, of the set of packets, is a prioritized packet type. The packet can be prioritized for transmission ahead of its order in the defined sequence based on the detection of the prioritized packet type. The packet can be transmitted ahead of its order in the defined sequence to an access point.

Abstract: In an aspect, while a mobile device is operating in a RRC_Idle State, an RRC_Suspended State, an RLF State and/or an RLF Recovery Procedure State, the mobile device may transmit a connection establishment message to a base station of a plurality of base stations. In an aspect, the connection establishment message includes information that indicates whether the mobile device has information associated with signals transmitted by one or more base stations of the plurality of base stations. The mobile device may initiate transmission of the information associated with the signals to the base station subsequent to establishing a security context for the connection between the mobile device and the base station. In some aspects, the mobile device may scramble the information associated with signals and transmit the information associated with signals to the base station prior to establishing a security context for a connection between the mobile device and the base station.

Abstract: A UE apparatus determines UE capability and signals UE capability information to a base station. The UE may signal RF capability information to the base station with reference to at least one band combination and signal other baseband parameter(s) (obp(s)) to the base station. The RF capability information indicate RF capability with reference to at least one other band combination parameter. The obp may be indicated on a per UE basis, a per band basis, a per band combination basis, a per band, per band combination basis; and/or a per CC, per band, per band combination basis. Each band combination may indicate a combination of a numerology, a layer and a bandwidth. In another example, a plurality of basebands may be defined, each baseband indicating a combination of a numerology, a layer and a bandwidth.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for call continuity following radio link failure (RLF) through re-establishment of a voice call using a same or different radio access technology (RAT) before the call is dropped. Upon detection of RLF on a connection supporting a voice call, a UE may initiate a drop call timer and scan for available connections. The voice call may be attempted to be re-established if a connection is available on using a RAT of an existing connection. The voice call in such cases may continue without the call being dropped. Upon expiration of the drop call timer, the UE may attempt to establish a connection using a RAT identified during the duration of the drop call timer.

Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for transmitting bundles of silence indicator (SID) frames during a voice call among a plurality of access terminals. In an aspect, a source access terminal detects a transition to a silence state, generates, in response to detection of the transition, at least a first bundle of SID frames, wherein each SID frame of the at least the first bundle of SID frames includes data representing comfort noise to be played at one or more target access terminals of the plurality of access terminals during the silence state, and transmits the at least the first bundle of SID frames to a base station serving the source access terminal. In an aspect, the base station receives the at least the first bundle of SID frames, and periodically forwards SID frames of the at least the first bundle of SID frames to the one or more target access terminals.

Abstract: Techniques are described herein to dynamically control a number of hybrid automatic repeat requests (HARQ) transmissions based at least in part on flow characteristics of a data flow. Data included in a transport block may be grouped into one or more data flows based on a variety of factors. A set of performance benchmarks may be associated with each data flow. Flow characteristics for each data flow may be measured. A network entity may determine a number of HARQ transmissions to be transmitted during a HARQ procedure based on measured flow characteristics satisfying the performance benchmarks. For example, if a performance benchmark is not satisfied by its associated flow characteristic, the network entity may request additional HARQ transmissions during the HARQ procedure.
