    摘要： A calculator system for performing duplication of contents does not necessarily perform screening, i.e., electronic watermark detection, rather, contents copy control information can be obtained otherwise. For example, in the event of copying a CD regarding which it is known beforehand that there is no electronic watermark inserted in the contents, the electronic watermark detection processing itself can be skipped as long as the CD can be confirmed to be such, thereby reducing the amount of time necessary for copying. Electronic watermark inspecting processing with heavy computation loads is performed vicariously for judging whether or not duplication of contents is permissible.

    摘要： A liquid crystal light valve includes a semiconductor substrate having a region for a plurality of switching elements formed in a matrix form. A first metal layer is formed on the surface of the semiconductor substrate through an insulating layer and divided into a plurality of parts by first slits. A second metal layer is formed on the first metal layer through another insulating layer and divided into a plurality of parts by second slits. A third metal layer is formed on the second metal layer through still another insulating layer and divided into a plurality of parts by third slits. An opposite substrate has an opposite electrode on a surface thereof, disposed so as to be opposite to said third metal layer through an interval on the opposite electrode side. Liquid crystal fills the interval between said opposite electrode and the third metal layer.

    摘要： A liquid crystal display apparatus has horizontal and vertical scanning circuits for scanning an array of pixels. An image signal applied to an image signal supply circuit in the form of series of pixel signals is transferred to pixels in the array of pixels designated by the horizontal and vertical scanning circuits. Each of the horizontal and vertical scanning circuits have a series connection of bidirectional shift register stages and are capable of bidirectional scanning. Each of the bidirectional shift register stages includes a pair of latches connected in tandem and is capable of providing an intermediate output and a shift register stage output. The pair of latches of each of the bidirectional shift register stages except those located at both ends of the series connection have respective intermediate and bidirectional shift register stage outputs contributing to designation of pixels to which pixel signals are to be supplied, while the pair of latches of the shift register stages located at each end of the series connection have their bidirectional shift register stage outputs contributing to such designation of pixels and their intermediate output terminals not contributing to such designation of pixels.
