摘要: A magnetic recording medium is provided, which includes a recording layer formed in a concavo-convex pattern to achieve high areal density and can ensure good recording and reproduction characteristics so as to provide high reliability. The magnetic recording medium has a substrate and a recording layer formed in the predetermined concavo-convex pattern over the substrate. The recording layer has a non-recording element and recording elements. The non-recording element is formed as convex portion of the concavo-convex pattern at an outer circumferential end and/or an inner circumferential end. The recording elements are formed as convex portions of the concavo-convex pattern in a region other than a region where the non-recording element is arranged. The magnetic recording medium further has a non-magnetic material with which concave portions of the concavo-convex pattern are filled and which covers the non-recording element, and a protective layer formed over the recording layer and the non-magnetic material.

摘要: A magnetic recording medium having a recording layer formed in a concavo-convex pattern, which can allow a head to have stable flying characteristics. The recording layer is formed in a concavo-convex pattern, and concave portions of the concavo-convex pattern of the recording layer are filled with a non-magnetic material. The relationship of S≦3.6×R holds, when R represents a concavo-convex ratio obtained by dividing an area of convex portions in a surface by an area of the concave portions in the surface, and S represents a difference in height between a concavity and a convexity of the surface. In the magnetic recording medium, an arithmetical mean deviation of the assessed profile of the surface is limited to 0.3 nm or more.

摘要: Liquid nitrogen is filled in a low temperature vessel; an ejector that sucks liquid nitrogen by blowing a cooling agent (liquid or gas) such as low temperature helium gas or liquid helium of pressure higher than in the space within the vessel is disposed in the vessel; the liquid nitrogen blown with the cooling agent is cooled by the cooling agent to become fine particles of solid nitrogen which fall down; and gas in a space of the vessel is discharged out of the vessel so as to maintain the pressure of the space higher than the atmospheric pressure. A gaseous phase of liquid nitrogen in an adiabatic vessel is depressurized to vaporize nitrogen in a liquid phase so that a temperature of the nitrogen is reached to the triple point of nitrogen by lowering temperature thereby and solid nitrogen is produced by keeping at the triple point, and that the produced solid nitrogen is transformed into slush by stirring the content of the adiabatic vessel. In a method for cooling a super conductive body in which a material showing a state of super conductance in the vicinity of the temperature of liquid nitrogen or of the temperature liquid nitrogen and solid nitrogen coexist is used, a method for cooling a super conductive body characterized in that the super conductive body is immersed in slush nitrogen held in an adiabatic vessel, and that the body is contacted with slush nitrogen to cool.

摘要: In an automatic deboning apparatus, an X-ray irradiation unit is provided on the upstream side of a meat cutting unit in a direction of transport of the work. In the X-ray irradiation unit, an X-ray r is irradiated to a work w from an X-ray irradiation device, an image of the X-ray transmitted through the work is subjected to image processing in an image analysis process unit, and two-dimensional position coordinates of a bone part are thereby obtained. In the meat cutting unit, three robot arms are provided with cutting blades. A storage unit of a controller stores three-dimensional position coordinates of a target operation course of each of the cutting blades. The target operation course is corrected on the basis of the two-dimensional position coordinates of the bone part obtained for each work in the image analysis process unit.

摘要: A nuclear reactor comprises a fuel rod into which nuclear fuel is enclosed and a control rod that controls nuclear reactions of the nuclear fuel. A concentration of a neutron absorber in a primary coolant at a full power operation of the nuclear reactor, when an operation of the nuclear reactor is started, is set equal to or lower than a value that is obtained by adding a predetermined value to a value obtained by subtracting a concentration of the neutron absorber that is required for maintaining a cold shutdown state of the nuclear reactor when an operation of the nuclear reactor is started from a concentration of the neutron absorber that is required for maintaining cold shutdown of the nuclear reactor when an operation of the nuclear reactor is completed.

摘要: A reliable magnetic recording medium manufacturing method is provided in which a resin material used for processing a recording layer into a concavo-convex pattern can be removed reliably. In the magnetic recording medium manufacturing method, an energy ray curable resin material is spread over a continuous recording layer. Then, a stamper having a predetermined concavo-convex pattern is brought into contact with the resin material to transfer the concavo-convex pattern to the resin material, and the resin material is irradiated with energy rays such that the irradiation energy on a portion excluding the edge portion of the resin material is greater than that on the edge portions. The curing reaction proceeds to a greater extent in the portion excluding the edge portions than in the edge portions. Then, the resin material is etched and removed such that more resin material is removed from the edge portions than from the other portion.
