    摘要: A milling system for use in resecting at least a portion of a joint articulation surface of a bone includes an alignment guide having a top surface and an opposing bottom surface with an opening extending therebetween. Fasteners are used to secure the alignment guide to the bone so that the alignment guide is suspended above the bone. A template is removably mounted to the alignment guide so that a plurality of guide paths extending through the template are aligned with the opening in the alignment guide. A mill extends down through the guide path and has a burr on the end thereof for resecting the bone.

    摘要: A guide assembly for forming a tunnel through a proximal end of a tibia includes a brace having a first end and an opposing second end. A template is mounted on the first end of the brace. The template is adapted to rest on a lateral or medial facet at a proximal end of the tibia. A tubular guide sleeve has a proximal end and an opposing distal end. The tubular guide sleeve is adjustably mounted on the second end of the brace such that when the template is disposed on the lateral or medial facet of the tibia, the distal end of the tubular guide sleeve can be selectively biased against a lateral, medial, or anterior side of a proximal end of the tibia.

    摘要: A bone anchor and method for its use in an arthroscopic and open soft tissue surgical procedure to mount a ligament graft, or the like, under tension and at variable lengths in a tunnel section that is formed through a bone or bones. The bone anchor embodiments of the invention each have a body for mounting into and/or adjacent a bone cortex surface in a tunnel section to allow at least one suture or shaft that has been fitted through the bone anchor, and is attached to the ligament graft to be pulled through the bone anchor. The suture or shaft to pass across a movable clamp fitted within the body to move so as to allow the suture or shaft to be pulled freely through the bone anchor distal, but will clamp against the suture or shaft, prohibiting its being pulled back therethrough. A pulling of the suture or shaft through the seated bone anchor applies a tension and sets a required length to a graft whose opposite end is secured, with the clamp locking against a section of that suture or shaft, to maintain that applied tension. Whereafter, the excess suture or shaft can be cut away, permanently mounting the graft.

    摘要: A variable angle drill guide and method for its use for securing an end of a ligament graft in a tunnel section of a straight tunnel section that has been formed into a patient's knee in a procedure for replacing a cruciate ligament. The drill guide includes a straight reference rod that is for fitting to slide through a straight hole formed in a slide block and includes a crossing straight hole that is for receiving, fitted therethrough, a straight base leg rod that is bent from one end into a straight drill guide mounting leg, the mount leg, in turn, to mount an arcuate shaped slide track along its top end. The slide track is curved to approximately one hundred twenty (120) degrees of arc and is arranged to maintain a drill guide slide traveling therealong that includes a drill guide barrel that is fitted to slide therethrough. By adjusting and locking positioning of the reference rod and base leg rod fitted through the slide block, the drill guide barrel will point at a target depression formed in the reference rod, whereby a drill turned through the drill guide barrel will form a passage from any point on the frontal cortex of the distal femur or proximal tibia to the target depression, formed in the reference rod. This formed passage will be at an angle to the tunnel section that is greater or lesser than a right angle and, upon removal of the reference rod and installation of a ligament graft in the straight tunnel, the formed passage can receive a screw turned therein to contact the ligament graft end, for mounting it in the tunnel section.

    摘要: A preassembled disposable driver and suture anchor are provided for threaded engagement into a bone to provide an attachment point for soft tissue. The anchor is formed to have an externally threaded body portion for engaging the bone, a distal end portion, and a proximal end portion. When the anchor is threaded into an opening in a bone, the distal end portion is adjacent a bottom of the opening and the proximal end portion is adjacent a mouth of the opening. A suture is attached to said anchor having free ends extending outwardly from the bone opening. The driver is elongated and has a distal end which engages the proximal end of the anchor and a proximal end for gripping by the surgeon. The driver also has a slot for receiving the suture which extends away from the anchor. The distal end portion of the driver is radially enlarged relative to the body portion of the anchor to engage the bone surrounding the mouth of the opening to limit the internal advancement of the driver such that further rotation and threading of the anchor into the bone by the driver will separate the anchor from the driver.

    摘要: A method is provided for installing a femoral bone plug in a femoral tunnel formed in a femur. The method includes the steps of inserting the femoral bone plug into the femoral tunnel, and installing a transverse pin through the femur generally perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the femoral tunnel and intersecting the femoral tunnel.
