摘要: A method and communication node for providing traffic aggregation between a 3GPP network and a WLAN network when a wireless device is connected to an access point of the WLAN network. The communication node establishes an aggregation interface between the wireless device and a base station of the 3GPP network for carrying aggregation traffic traversing the WLAN network transparently. The communication node can then communicate data and/or messages over the WLAN network across the aggregation interface, without requiring any modifications or adaptions in the WLAN network. The communication node may be the wireless device or the base station.

摘要: A wireless device establishes multi-connectivity to a wireless communication network. In particular, the wireless device transmits a request for a connection to a third network element over a second wireless link. The third network element is a candidate for establishing the multi-connectivity. The wireless device also enables the third network element to connect to a first network element already connected to the wireless device via a second network element communicating with the wireless device over a first wireless link. This enabling includes transmitting information identifying the first network element to the third network element. The wireless device also transmits an identifier of the wireless device to the third network element to establish the multi-connectivity for the wireless device. The first and second network elements serve the wireless device with different network functions at least after the establishing of the multi-connectivity.

摘要: Methods and apparatus in a fifth-generation wireless communications network, including an example method, in a wireless device, that includes determining a reporting quality threshold for a parameter related to channel state information (CSI); performing a measurement for each of a plurality of beams from a first predetermined set of beams for evaluation; evaluating the measurement for each of the plurality of beams against the reporting quality threshold; discontinuing the performing and evaluating of measurements in response to determining that the reporting quality threshold is met for one of the beams, such that one or more beams in the first predetermined set of beams are not measured and evaluated; and reporting, to the wireless communications network, CSI for the one of the beams.

摘要: The present disclosure presents method, network nodes and computer program for improving a dual band user equipment, UE/STA, mobility from a first access node, e.g. an eNB, arranged to operate according to a first radio access technology to at least one second access node, e.g. a WLAN AP, arranged to operate according to a second radio access technology. A communications interface is arranged for direct communication between the first access node and the respective second access node. The method, as performed in the first access node, comprises retrieving (S32) resource management related information of the second access node relevant for the user equipment UE/STA over the communications interface. Radio resources provided to the dual-mode user equipment, UE/STA, by both the first and the second access node, are coordinately controlled (S33), over the communications interface, based on the retrieved resource management related information and internal resource management related information for the first node.

摘要: A method and apparatus for providing both Mobile Terminated, MT, and Mobile Originated, MO, circuit switched (CS) services such as Short Message Service, SMS, services in networks utilizing CS Fallback and CSoLTE-I architectures. An extended SGs interface referred to as SGs+ is implemented between a Mobility Management Entity, MME, in an SAE core network and a Mobile Switching Center Server, MSC-S. The SGs+ interface supports transmission of upper layer CS packet data units while utilizing either connectionless or connection-oriented Signaling Connection Control Part, SCCP, operation. The non access stratum, NAS, signaling support between the User Equipment, UE, and the MME is extended to provide support for both MT SMS and MO SMS service.

In an aspect, a method of a node configured to provide core network user plane functionality in a communications network is provided to enable paging of a wireless communication device being in an idle state. 摘要: Systems and methods are disclosed for providing a network-instructed handover of a wireless device from a Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) to a Radio Access Network (RAN) of another Radio Access Technology (RAT), e.g., a 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) or 3rd Generation Partnership Project 2 (3GPP2) RAT. In one embodiment, a WLAN access node determines that a handover of a wireless device from the WLAN to another RAN of a different RAT is to be performed and transmits a handover instruction to the wireless device that instructs the wireless device to perform a handover from the WLAN to a RAN of a different RAT. In this manner, the WLAN access node is able to steer the wireless device from the WLAN to a RAN of a different RAT.

摘要: The proposed technology generally relates to interworking and integration of different radio access networks, and more specifically to carrier aggregation between different radio access networks such as a cellular radio access network, e.g. a 3GPP network, on one hand and a WLAN network such as Wi-Fi, on the other hand. Such tight interworking/aggregation of radio access networks puts new requirements on efficient handling of authentication and security aspects. The proposed technology provides methods, and corresponding network nodes, computer programs, carriers comprising such computer programs, and computer program products as well as arrangements to support carrier aggregation between different radio access networks.
