摘要: A mode designation section selectively designates a normal image scanning mode and an adjustment mode. An operation section can designate a first operation item associated with a normal image scanning operation by an image scanner section and a signal processing section when the normal image scanning mode is designated, or can designate a second operation item associated with at least one of the image scanner section and the signal processing section when the adjustment mode is designated. A display can display the first operation item when the normal image scanning mode is designated and can display the second operation item when the adjustment mode is designated. A controller supplies control signals for the normal image scanning operation or the adjustment operation to the image scanner section and the signal processing section when the normal image scanning mode or the adjustment mode is designated and the first or second operation item is designated, and supplies display signals for displaying first or second content in association with the designated first or second operation item to the display.

摘要: In a magnetic head of perpendicular magnetization type having main and sub magnetic poles arranged at both sides of a recording medium, a nonmagnetic supporter holding a high permeability magnetic thin layer of the main magnetic pole is formed by a polycrystalline sintered body substantially composed of titanium carbide and alumina. This polycrystalline sintered product well matches with a recording medium having a cobalt-chromium alloy layer so that the recording medium does not wear for a long time of use, and therefore, so that the contact surface of the main magnetic pole is hardly damaged. The same sintered body may also be used for the sub magnetic pole arranged to be in contact with the recording medium. Some structural improvements are also provided so that undesirable influence due to an adhesive layer adjacent to the magnetic thin layer is removed. One or more additional thin layers may be provided for reducing crosstalk between adjacent tracks. A magnetically shielding block is provided to prevent undesirable influence caused by an external magnetic field.

摘要: A variable-threshold-type differential signal receiver comprises a differential amplifier for comparing differential voltages of differential input signals with a predetermined threshold voltage so as to provide logical output signals. It further comprises an emitter follower and an impedance means, the output of the emitter follower being superimposed through the impedance means on one of the differential input signals, whereby the predetermined threshold voltage is variably controlled by controlling the input voltage of the first emitter follower.

摘要: Like a conventional time division multiplex communication device, a device according to this invention comprises first terminals, a switching matrix, transducers or C/E buffers, control circuits, and second terminals. The first and second terminals are for low-speed and high-speed signal sequences. The control circuits are connected to the second terminals. In contrast to the conventional one, the transducers are connected to the respective first terminals, with the switching matrix interposed between the transducers and the control circuits and rendered capable of dealing with the high-speed signal sequences, among others, rather than the low-speed ones as in the conventional device. The devices are particularly useful in earth stations of TDMA satellite communication to which multi-transponder operation is applied, although useful also in carrying out conversion between low-frequency analog signal or PAM signal sequences and PAM signal sequences of a higher rate.

摘要: A swirl chamber type combustion chamber for an internal-combustion engine is divided into a main combustion chamber and a swirl chamber connected through a passageway with the main combustion chamber. The main combustion chamber includes a clearance part defined between a cylinder head and a piston of the engine, a concavity or piston chamber provided in the upper surface of the piston, and an air reservoir. The air reservoir is preferably provided in portions of the piston upper surface where the concavity of the main combustion chamber is not present. It is preferable, but not essential, that the air reservoir have a suitable number of holes with a diameter-deepness ratio of 1 to 4 arranged symmetrically with respect to the concavity so that a line connecting the centers of the piston and each hole makes an angle of substantially 30.degree. to 120.degree. with a longitudinal center line of the concavity.

摘要: This microlens array comprises hexagonal field diaphragms in inverted-image-forming positions, i.e., microlenses, a plurality of which are arranged in the direction perpendicular to a direction of scanning, and from which rows of microlenses are configured. Further, for three rows of microlenses, microlens rows are arranged with offset by (a length S) in a direction perpendicular to the direction of scanning such that triangular portions of the hexagonal field diaphragms overlap in the direction of scanning. Furthermore, microlens row groups, which are configured from three microlens rows, are arranged with offset in the direction perpendicular to the direction of scanning in increments of a minute amount of shifting F (for example, 2 μm). Thereby, this scanning exposure device using a microlens array is capable of preventing exposure ununiformity even in the direction perpendicular to the direction of scanning.

摘要: Low-pressure fire-extinguishing liquid is converted into mist. A fire-extinguishing spray nozzle (10) comprises a main body (30) and an obstacle (36). The main body (30) has a port (40) for radially injecting the fire-extinguishing liquid. The obstacle (36) is arranged within a radial injection region (102) of the fire-extinguishing liquid radially injected from the port (40). The obstacle (36) has an outer peripheral surface formed in the shape of a truncated-conical inclined surface (62). This enables the fire-extinguishing liquid (70) radially injected from the port (40) and passing around the obstacle (36) to collide with the fire-extinguishing liquid (72) radially injected from the port (40) and reflected from the inclined surface (62) so as to produce mist (74) of fire-extinguishing liquid. When producing the mist (74) by such an action, the fire-extinguishing liquid radially injected from the port (40) may have a low pressure. As a result, it is possible to provide a fire-extinguishing spray nozzle (10) which converts the low-pressure fire-extinguishing liquid into mist.
