The system can include a sheath and/or endoscope each having an inflow port providing access to an inflow channel extending from the inflow port to a distal portion of the sheath, and an outflow port providing access to an outflow channel extending from the outflow port to the distal portion of the sheath. The sheath can also include a pressure sensor configured to generate a pressure measurement, and an electronic processor configured to control fluid through at least one of the inflow port and the outflow port based on the pressure measurement.

    摘要: The present invention provides a system and method for creating a percutaneous fluidic connection. In one embodiment, the system includes an endoscope having an end cap with a tube that defines a distal cavity and an internal magnet circumferentially arranged around the distal end of the tube. The internal magnet is delivered into the patient's stomach and pressed against an inner wall of the stomach. An external magnet is placed on an external surface of the patient's skin corresponding to the location of the internal magnet and the inner and external magnets are coupled together. An incision is made through the skin to access the distal cavity, and an overtube containing a PEG device is inserted into the distal cavity. The magnets are decoupled and removed, leaving the overtube in place, which is subsequently retracted from the PEG device, allowing the PEG device to be anchored in place.

The valve has a hollow body with a distal end that releasably attaches to the inlet port, and a flexible diaphragm seal dividing the body into a proximal chamber and a distal chamber. An instrument opening extends through the diaphragm seal for the passage of instruments therethrough, and connects the chambers together. The diaphragm seal is configured to seal with a surgical instrument inserted into the instrument opening. At least one fluid transfer member is provided to fluidly interconnect the proximal chamber to the distal chamber when the surgical instrument is sealed within the instrument opening.
